Tomatoes

I hate eating tomatoes.  I have hated eating tomatoes my WHOLE life.  Ask my parents.  Better yet, ask my brothers that grew up listening to the ordeals involved with making me eat raw tomatoes.  I hate them.  But, I am fine with tomatoes being used in foods as long as they aren’t chunky pieces.

I love a good salsa–NOT chunky, and I dang sure don’t want a tomato taste.  I want it to taste like jalapeño, cayenne or habanero peppers with a touch of onion.  I can’t stand ketchup that tastes like a crappy tomato.  I don’t want a slice of tomato on a burger or sandwich.  Same with a salad.  I don’t want food that has tomato blood all over it.  I am fine with a salad that has cherry/grape tomatoes on it.  That way I can pick them off and give them to a tomato lover.  Diced tomatoes on a salad–keep the salad.

I don’t watch much tv, except between the hours of 2 am and 6 am.  I don’t watch cnn or fox news.  I only occasionally watch the local crap.  Everything is SO sensationalized and not always true.  If the weather is actually bad, the radio or this damn phone will let me know.  Better yet, common sense tells me a lot.  The news should be straight forward and without a political spin.  Not in today’s society.

I do not think that the Trumpster is the greatest person ever.  I DO think that he is better than we have had in a while and that he truly is trying to make things better.  I do think that we have a lot of politicians that we do not need in our daily diet.  They are like tomatoes.  I don’t need them nor want them.  Nancy Pelosi would top this list.  Get that vile thing away from me.

I understand that we need some tomatoes in the house of representatives.  But this one infects the rest of the recipe like a bunch of diced up tomatoes.  How she has gotten elected is beyond me and thus the reason that I don’t want to live near her district.

I could write piles about what I don’t like about her.  But her blatant lack of knowledge when it comes to the Farm Bill and its purpose is staggering.

Then again, everyone involved in agriculture understands that the Farm Bill is NOT about agriculture and is more about food stamps, WIC, nutrition programs, etc, etc, etc.  These politicians use the large $#s associated with the “farm bill” to make voters believe that it is actually about agriculture.  On the other hand, they use the welfare and free programs to sway people to their side.  And those people vote.  Why?  They don’t have jobs and they don’t want to lose their free stuff.  And we aren’t talking about race when I say those people.

You might want to be aware that they are going to make it illegal to slaughter or eat cats and dogs.  Who is this aimed at?  If somebody is that hungry, I don’t care if they eat a dog.  As long as it isn’t my dog.  Who cares if someone from another culture eats a dog?  I don’t.  In Peru, 10% of their total meat intake is guinea pig.  Why?  Because guinea pigs are native there.  It’s like a cajun eating shrimp or gator, someone from New England eating lobster or my fat ass eating some pig, steak or smoked bologna (which may or may not contain guinea pig, labrador and/or goat and mutton),  but Dude, once you season it with some garlic salt and some pecan wood smoke….who cares?   And I tell you what, I’ve had some bad-ass jalapeño goat bologna from Tom & Kerensa Kester.  Ask Dale Cramblett.  He will back me up on that.

Personally, I don’t want to eat a dog.  But, if I had to…Labradors are probably tasty.  Just kidding.  But, in all honesty, I haven’t ever been that hungry.  Some cultures are fine with eating some canine.  I think that I will leave the cat part alone.  You can sit there with your own thoughts.

The horse slaughter ban has not been a good thing for anybody in agriculture.  In fact, it has probably led to an increase in animal cruelty cases.  But peta and the hsus got what they wanted.  And both those organizations have direct ties to the tomato can known as the minority leader of the house of U.S. representatives.

All I really know is that I get to deal with a lot of good kids and good people.  Our country is not as bad as some want to make it to be.  But, when you realize that this clown has supporters, it has to scare you.  You don’t have to be a fan of Trump.  But supporting this rotten tomato scares me.  The attack of the killer tomatoes is not how I want to see this nation end.  I would rather it be in a fight for the common good.  Not a splintering of a once proud nation that uses too much tv news, social media and other resources for its political info.

There are lots of places to blame for the Dumbing Down of America.  But, we can look directly to our media and our politicians.  But in reality, the tomato sauce is on our faces.  You elected these people and you watch these tv channels that support their agendas.

I’m done.

For now.
