May the 4th be with you. I wish that I had time to sit in front of the tube and watch some Star Wars on this fine day. Probably won’t happen.
I understand the value of a text message. But I DON’T like them as a primary means of communication.
I can sound like an ass in a regular conversation, but I can sound real bad in a text message. I don’t always mean to, but… it happens. I apoligize to any that I offend via text. But, I would rather talk to you than text you. I guess that I am old. So be it. There are just some areas that I know that I am right and this is one of them.
Years ago, a student got me a keychain. We’re talking about 1997 or so. The keychain read, “I am not opinionated. I am just always right.” Almost two decades later and I wouldn’t argue. How do you know when I am wrong? I am quiet.
I like texting a quick pic of MY dog on the gator to Kela. I like reading group texts from Milligan, Frazier and the boys. I don’t like texts from the Dragon Lady regarding Duke and his scholastic (un)approval of his academic teachers. I love texts from Muret or Lamle. I like texts from Brandon The Bruce because I realize that texting wasn’t made for large hands.
Here’s to wishing all of you some horseshoes and shamrocks or whatever else rocks your world. Peace on Earth! And yes, May the 4th be with you. I need the Darth Vader theme song playing in the background.
