Veteran’s Day

We went to the Shattuck Veteran’s Day program.  Shattuck has a long history of having an outstanding high school & junior high choir.  This year is no exception.  They put on a stellar program.  There is some real talent and Mrs. Dorsey gets that talent to shine.  Way cool deal!  Duke even sings.  They also had a very good speaker.  He was a retired military man that is native to Shattuck.  Outstanding evening.  Duke, Tammy and I then ventured over to Gusto’s for a little supper.  I had the grilled pork chop with the mac & cheese.  This is one of the better meals that you will find at a restaurant.  Of course, Duke ate the Big Pig sandwich.  Pretty good night in all.

Huge thank you to all the veterans and current service men and women.  Our government may or may not respect our veterans like they should.  But it was truly an honor to watch our kids show respect to the veterans, our flag and to our GOD.  It is somewhat scary to realize that since 9-11-2001, our country has had our military in continuous conflict in Irag or Afghanistan.  Some of these kids that were singing tonight, were not even born when 9-11 happened.  It is with great respect and admiration that I say “Thank You” to all that have served or are serving.

Here I sit….

like a dude in a quick stop bathroom stall.  Just trying to come up with something witty to write.

Our eldest child and favorite daughter is getting ready to get on a plane to head to some other continent to start the production for another season of that tv show for which she works.  She will be in numerous countries and continents over the next couple of weeks.  And she gets paid for this.   Hopefully, she can skype us on Thanksgiving.  It is times like this that I remember my brother Daniel and mother talking about Kela graduating high school and how I would handle it.  They figured that I walked around, kicking rocks and muttering to myself a lot.  She was just headed to Stillwater at that time and I was fine with that.  Now, I walk around, kick a turd and go “RUSM?!  She’s headed to where?”  Somebody get me a globe so I can find this place.  (Do they even still make globes?)

Meanwhile, we are left here in paradise.  Our youngest child and favorite son was just discussing the merits of going or not going to several shows over the next month or two.  We also discussed quail season, deer season and guns.  Sometimes, opening day of quail season seems way more appetizing than some Easter-colored ribbon.  I don’t need to drive some distance to have a judge tell me that our wethers are common.  I already know that they are common.  However, it is Duke’s call if we head somewhere.

And all of this brings me to the thoughts of stock shows.  For the past year or so, I have wrestled with numerous facets of the stock show industry.  Jocks, Ag teachers, parents, big $s (ever increasing), politics, drugs, no drugs, judges (good and bad) and all of the other stuff involved with a stock show.

I have personally had the fortune as well as the misfortune to be on all sides of the fences that deal with stock shows.  We’ve had wins as a jock, ag teacher, parent, friend, breeder, etc.  We’ve been on both sides of the politics.  Been beat by better animals and some that weren’t so good.  It is all part of it.  That stuff can eat at you and make you not want to have anything do with a show ring.

But then, you can look back on one kid that was raised via the show ring, speech room, etc.  And realize, that deal worked out.  Then, you can look around, make sure you understand that the next kid is not like the first one, and realize that we have had really good times at shows, chasing animals, etc.  You have to put things in perspective and remember that the end goal is not a banner.  As a breeder, jock, ag teacher, whatever, I want the best animal(s).  As a parent, I really just want the best that I can for my kid without compromising anybody’s integrity or bank account.  I could spend more but it is just kind of against my upbringing, religion and want to.  So, that brings a dilemma.

And then you bring the ag teacher thing back into it.  As an ag teacher, I would recommend that a family spend more and tie in with a reputable jock.  But then there is the $50 to $300 pig market.  No jock wants to mess with that.  There isn’t any money in it.  Especially since, most sales are floored at $300 or $250.

But from my perspective, it is still fun to see a kid/family excited about their new pig project.   And this is actually where almost all of us stock show people originated.  On the cheap end that just wanted a project to learn the business.  It may or may not end up as a champion.  But it has a chance–1 in a thousand or so.  And like the great Dumb & Dumber movie line, “So you are saying there is a chance!?”  I love that movie.

Now, I am still sitting here trying to find something witty to write.  What I do know is that as a breeder, ag teacher, jock, whatever, I want our stock to do well.  As a parent, I want Tammy and I to be able to sit back in several years, raise a toast and acknowledge that, “Yes!  We did it.  Twice.  Two for two.”  I like our chances.

Have a good one and a better tomorrow.

On occasion, Kela sends Duke and I new music to peruse.  On this night, she sent a cool one.  And since we are going to do like the cool kids and talk in the third person, “Ol Kelln got himself a new theme song.”  I love it.

Blankets

I am trying to get back into the typing groove.  And it is that time of year that brings up the topic of blankets on goats.  We are actually late.  But it is still somewhat warm for November.  I personally believe that this is the most commonly screwed up aspect of showing goats north of Ft. Worth.  A goat’s hair has no redeeming insulation value.  Just becaue they have long hair does not mean that they are warm.

Blankets.  Our rule of thumb is this:  1–If you need a hoodie, the goats need a blanket.  2–If you need a jacket/coat, then the goats need at 2 layers.  3–If you need bundled up, the goats need bundled up.  4–If it warms up, shed the layers.  Sometimes it just feels good to run naked.  If the temps allow it.

Other rules include:  those dang tubes that all of the show supply outlets sell–don’t buy them, don’t use them.  First, they don’t provide a warm layer.  Second, they get in the way of a wether pissing, which causes yellow stains on legs and bellys.  They are worthless. DO NOT use the tube socks for goats.

Reiteration point–A goat’s hair has no redeeming insulation value.  Just because they have long hair does not mean that they are warm.

Goats don’t like cold, wind or a chill.  Keep them insulated.  You don’t have to have a heated barn to be successful.  You just need to manage their comfort level.

We don’t use heat lamps on our show wethers.  But if it gets butt-ass cold, we do move inside.

Keep ’em warm.  Good luck and good day.

OSU Football

I have always been an Okie State fan.  I love the school.  My dad, myself, my daughter, a brother, some uncles, cousins and a butt-load of friends have graduated from the Oklahoma State University.  I keep up with their athletic teams and judging teams.  My life doesn’t crumble when they lose, but I am in a better mood when they win.

Personally, I did not think that the pokes would beat TCU.  I was wrong.  Dad asked us to go to the game, but I had pigs to buy and recips to kid.  He and mom made the trek to the motherland.  Perfect weather and a big win for Okie State football.  I’m sure that it was a large time.  I enjoy myself when I do go to games.  And therein lies the problem.  I have a large time.  Lots of friends at different tailgates.  Throw in the fact that I don’t like sitting in the stands which means that I end up back at the tailgates listening to it on the radio.

Growing up, we made it to a game or two every season.  That was a big deal to go to a game.  I have some fond memories of being in Stillwater for an OSU football game.  I distinctly remember going with my Dad and Grandpa Kelln to an OSU/Texas A&M.  That was my first time to see the Aggies marching band.  IMPRESSIVE!  I am a little wierd when it comes to OSU football on TV.  It wasn’t common for the cowboys to be on tv when I was a kid.  Therefore, I listened to most of the games on the radio.  I still prefer the radio versus tv when it comes to OSU football and basketball.  Wrestling–I want to be there.  I digress.  My favorite daughter texted me to see if I was watching today’s game.  Nope.  But, I was aware of the score at the time.  I finished chores, checked on a newborn and then made it to the tv.  I couldn’t take it.  So, I pulled the High Country out of the barn and went dirt roading–just listening to the 4th quarter.  Good win.

There are times that I think that the internet, ESPN and all the other instant media has hurt sports.  In this part of the world, it is common to find St. Louis Cardinals fans.  Why?  That was the team that was on local radio.  Watch the movie Rudy.  It is kind of inspiring to watch him recite the radio announcer game calls.  There is something a bit nostalgic about listening to a ball game on the radio.  But, I still like to watch the replays on the tv.

A good play-by-play announcer is a true artist.  They can paint the picture.  My favorite football radio broadcast was the Boise State/ou Fiesta Bowl.  We left Phoenix and headed south to dodge a snow storm.  I listened to that game from Tucson to somewhere in southern New Mexico.  Those broadcasters nailed it.   I couldn’t wait to see the replays and they were just like the plays that had been described to me via the radiio.

Sounds like lots of dollars changed hands at the Perfect Timing pig sale.  I saw a lot of really good Berks sell today.  Bought several of them.  I think I’m done for the night.  Have a good one and a better tomorrow.

Friday

The week is about over and I haven’t hardly been near this keyboard.  Therefore, I haven’t offended many people.

We’ve been trying to kid some recips this week and at the same time, we are starting protocol for the next flush.  I’m still not a fan of this flushing business.

I guess the Schneberger crew went to a Thunder game this week.  Addie was involved in some kind of half-time little kid dribbling exercise.  Before the game, a lady approached Jared and one of the twins–Big Un.  She asked if Big Un could serve as an honorary captain.  Sure thing.  This meant Big Un was on the court with the team captains.  He got to meet Kevin Durant and some other players.  That’s a pretty cool deal for a kid.

Duke and some other kids competed at the AFR speech contest.  He didn’t win, but he did place 3rd.  He isn’t a bad speaker.  If he wanted to be good, he could be.  He does it in order to keep his parents happy.

I’m going to sync some does and actually start getting some does bred.  This sync program has worked pretty well.  2 ccs of Lut, put CIDRs in for 5 days and then give 1 cc PG 600 when CIDRs are pulled.

Weekend Update

I went pig sale-ing this weekend.  It is piggin’ season.  Got some bought, but need more.  This will be a steady week of piggin’.  There was a 2 day goat jackpot in Woodward, America this weekend.  I went to Woodward on Saturday evening and ate supper with a crew of goat showers.  I then stopped in for a bit on Sunday.  Once the show was over, the judge came to the house.  He needed me to take him to look at some killer good Berk gilts.  We did.  Then we made another stop.  I would like to tell the story on here, but sound is a must have component of this story.  Ask Ring, Elliott or Tommy about it.  I am laughing just thinking about it.

On Saturday evening, I made the schedule open up for a few minutes so that I could watch the Breeder’s Cup horserace.  I’m glad that I did.  That American Pharoah can run.  Unreal.  While watching that horse pull away from the field down the stretch, I got to thinking.  They retire #s of athletic greats.  We ought to retire names of great animals.  There doesn’t need to be an American Pharoah buck, boar, ram or bull.  It just wouldn’t be the same.

It is kind of fun to think of the greats whose names should be retired.   This is just a small sample that are on the top of my cranium.  Feel free to think of others.

Bulls-Who Made Who, Monopoly, Full Throttle, Meyer 734 ( I think we are safe on that one ), Sugar Ray, Heat Wave, Domino, Perfection, Traveler

Boars–Slam Dunk, Super Monster, Hawkeye, Kaw Liga, Yakety Yak

Horses–Secretariat, Affirmed, Alydar, Diamond Leo

Bucks–Bingo, 900, 191, Mozart, Guns N Roses

There are plenty more to list.  Some of these names have been used across several species.  For example, Heat Wave is one of the winningest show steer bulls of all time.  But there has also been a successful Heat Wave boar and buck.

Sugar Ray is another common name.  There were two hall of fame boxers that used the name Sugar Ray–Robinson & Leanord.  So, I guess, at times it is okay to re-use a name.

I’m done.  I hope that today was a good one and tomorrow will be better.

Simplicity

I don’t get sick very often, but for the 2nd time in a month, I have felt like stomped dog turds.  I haven’t been to a Dr. in years and I might have to start listening to my mother.  I haven’t missed work, but it has come with a price.  Stuff at home hasn’t got done like I would have liked.  I will deal with these consequences in June of next year.        I’ve also had several other deals taking up a bit of time.  These kind of deals actually make you step back and think about life.  Your life, my life, just life.  It really is simple, but there is always somebody else there to make it more complicated.

I spend a lot of time and brain-power dealing with stock shows.  I need to quit–thinking about stock shows..  The reason is simple.  Why?  Because I am a father.  And simply put, my decades of research have proven to me that fathers are the root of most problems in the stock show industry.  They are the ones that make it complicated.  Most kids will try to do their best, but because of unreasonable parental demands, they get sick of it and head another direction.  And it is normally the father doing the yelling, cussing and screaming.  I’ve been guilty.  Fathers are normally the ones talking at the feed store, knows other people in the game and willing to take that extra step (even when they know not to).

1–They want the best one–normally as cheap as possible, but will always spend more if they are left in charge of the bidding.  They are horrible phone bidders, they always bid more if they know the person bidding against them and if they quit, they will wish that they would have kept going and by GOD won’t quit bidding next time.

2–Even though they don’t need to do anything different, they are looking for that extra edge ( one more goat, another feed additive, that added advantage).  They can’t be happy.  They have always HEARD or just might be looking for that next deal.

3–My sorting habits for other people are exceptional.  They hang lots of banners.  In this role, I do every thing that I can to get the right animals to the right kids in the right budget.  As a dad, I make mistakes.  I get hung up on gambles, genetics, letting the kid have a say in which ones to keep, and well, I paid too much for this one (because sometimes auctions are weird) we’ll keep him even though I should keep the cheaper (better) one and let somebody else have the high dollar one for pennies on the dollar.  Duke would be way better off if I stepped aside when it came time to sort goats.

4–Dads can’t be happy with past/present results.  They are worried about who else is getting favors, extra help, etc, etc.  The past is cloudy (even though there are banners, buckles, plaques, etc.) but the future always look oh so bright if only we could do….  Athletics are the same.

5–Most cheating problems were dad driven.  Look at the history of the one’s that have been caught.  Even if they were a jock, ag teacher, whatever, they normally get caught with their own kids.  Risks will be taken.   Once again, athletics have the same problem.

Why not mothers as the root problem?  Don’t get me wrong.  Some mothers can stir a whole mess of crap.  But as a whole, Mothers want their kids to look sharp, show well, do well and not get beat because the fathers screwed up.  However, a lot of stupid father decisions were the result of a griping mother wanting their kid to beat somebody elses kid.

I don’t write this blog in a light humour.  This is a serious topic for me.  Tammy and I have raised one kid while using the stock show program as a tool.  Now, we are nearing the final round with the favorite son.  I spend lots of time reflecting on what I could have done better.  When my reflections lead me to the only mistake(s) that I have made involve which goat we should have kept, then I am at peace with my (our) decisions.  It’s that simple.

As a dad, ag teacher, “jock”, helper, a$$hole, consultant, whatever you want to call me,  I can tell you without a doubt, that most problems in the stock show world were caused by the dads.  And it was actually better if it was just kept simple.

Of course, the scariest song that I know of was VERY simple.  Two notes–E & F–back and forth, dark and steady.  You don’t get much simpler than the theme song to JAWS.  I still can’t imagine sitting in a movie theater back in the 70s with that music playing for the first time.

No need to try to read anything else extra into these writings.  They are straight forward thoughts–actually, quite simplistic.

The hunt is on!

One thing about the goat industry, the hunt for wethers actually lasts from March to November (or until nominations, validations or there aren’t any good ones left).   The SW pig buying season is basically the last couple of weeks in October and the first couple of November.  Although it is a shorter buying season, people make the same mistakes.  They get the fever, buy too early, too big and then have to reload again.  It helps drive the industry.   It is scary to see how many online sales are going on any given night during this sales rush.

A week ago Saturday, I drilled triticale seed.   I’m not a farmer, don’t like it, but it is a necessary evil around here.  One thing about it, a well timed 1.3 inches of rain while I was in KC makes even a meat-head like me look like a good farmer.  We have a good stand and plenty of soil moisture to help it go for a bit.  They can talk seedbed preparation, seed-to-soil contact and plenty of other technical terms, but nothing works as good as some moisture from Mother Nature.  Our country needed a good drink.  It was just right.  I dang sure wouldn’t have traded with the Texans that are getting torrential rainfall amounts.

Saturday evening, I looked off to the south from the carport.  I noticed one lone doe.  This was right before dark.  All of the other brombies were already in the corral.  Yep, sure enough, it was a recip that isn’t due until Nov. 4. Guess what?  She had twins.  Only, only eleven days early.  We have since lost one.  I don’t know why she went so early, but there you go.  More adventures in paradise.

KC

We survived a trip to Kansas City.  It was a good trip and was probably the deepest set of goats that I have seen shown at Kansas City.  Duke and I didn’t fare so well in the show, but we had a large time.

I could start with the pre-show report or I could just give a show report.  The pre-show report is way more fun.

First of all, the American Royal show does not act like it wants to have a goat or sheep show.  They started the show late.  They didn’t have a photo backdrop setup for the showmanship contest.  They are difficult to deal with and they look to grab cash at every turn–entries, nominations, parking pass, exhibitor passes, DNA tests, etc, etc, etc.  They have archaic rules–NO blowers, no clippers, no stands, no drenching.  I am fine with the lack of clippers, stands and drenching.  The NO blower rules is assinine.  There is no cheating involved with the use of a blower.  It just helps get an animal clean and dry.  That’s it.  We had a wether that got the shits on Thursday.  All over his ass and down his legs.  We washed him and then chamois-ed him dry.  Lovely.  A blower would have helped.  And, yes, I did get sent to the principal’s office and then the superintendent’s office.  No, I wasn’t mouthy, didn’t cuss and really wasn’t argumentative.  About a 1/3 of the total entries had “problems” with the ear tag info on nominations vs. entry cards vs. what they ACTUALLY wanted on the cards.  My point–If you have that many problems, it isn’t the exhibitors fault, it is the show managements problem with lack of proper communication.  No other show has as many problems with ear tag info.  They claim that they are more thorough than other shows.  I call BS.

Next, there were a lot of good goats from all over the country.  I saw good goats from Kedrick Miller, Hummel’s and Fledderjohan as well as several Okie & Texas breeders.  Goats were well fitted and well presented.  Lots of scissors were in action to fit legs as a result of the banned clippers.  Although there are differing styles of showmanship, showmanship across the country has improved.

As a result of show management having goats being there Wednesday, Thursday and not showing until Friday, there was a LOT of dead time Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.  It was fun watching the kids make new friends.  Lots of card games were going on amongst the kids.  That is good.  Thank goodness we had Hot & Spicy crackers and Zesty pretzels from Katy to keep us going.  Thanks.  On Thursday evening, there might have been a dare to ride a dolly cart down the ramp from the 2nd floor down to the cattle barn.  I didn’t really want to do it.  But the kids were pushing the issue.  I did it.  Then Jordan Fledderjohan rode it like he owned it.  There may or not be video of these lapses of intelligience.  Oh, and Randi Sweet might have also rode it.  I am happy to report no injuries.

After the dolly cart rides, we went to the hotel and ordered 13 Papa John’s pizzas.  The security guard might have joined us for supper.  Then, Scott Comstock and I volunteered to go with Braden and the rest of the kids to the haunted house tours that they have there in KC.  Old, brick warehouses with gators, spooks, snakes and other crap.  NO!  I did not go through the haunted house.  I kept the police officers entertained for a bit.  This particular spook house ended by jumping out of the 2nd story onto one of those airbags.  I don’t jump out of a building unless it is on fire.  I love our kids but they are retarded.

On Wednesday evening, we hiked from our hotel to the Power & Light district.  We went to the 801 Chophouse.  I have eaten at one of these in Omaha.  They are wicked good.  Duke highly recommends the filet.   I’ve had the filet, the ribeye and now, the prime rib.  They know their beef.  Great stop.  Brandon the  Bruce didn’t go because he does NOT function very well if he doesn’t get a set amount of sleep.

      Show report

Congrats to Jett Smith from Perry, OK.  Champion overall showman and res. lightweight wether with a Simpson goat.  Good family that is working to do good.  I like to see this kind of kid be successful.

I can tell you that the lightweight division was wicked good and all 4 class winners were from Okie showmen that will show at Woodward District in March.  The fact that makes this scarier is that there were also a lot of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th place goats in that division that were also Woodward District goats.  Basically, div. 1 was kind of a Woodward District preview show–now minus one.  Hats off to all of the Okies that showed.  The goats looked great.  Lexi Vanderwork won this tough division.  This was a wether that Duke, Braden and I bought in the Gallagher June sale out of Snuffy.

The middle division had a really deep class in the 5th class.  But, a pair of Fledderjohan wethers were 1 & 2 in this division.  It was evident that he liked this pair as he talked them.  They were very complete in type and kind.  Plenty of muscle, yet still correct.

The heavy weights brought some differences.  Braden Schovanec won the first class with a paint Rumour Has It wether from Seelke’s.  Cooper Bounds won a heavier class with a Kedrick Miller goat.  I thought it was between these two and Braden’s fit earlier patterns of being correct, complete with plenty of muscle.  The Bounds goat was massive in terms of muscle and bone, but wasn’t as cool in his shoulder set or neck tie.  The judged talked them the same way that I saw them, but placed them differently.  When he used the Bounds goat to win the heavy division, I immediately thought, “OH $%&!  This lightweight has a chance.”  Guess what?   He did. The champion middle weight was grand and then, he quickly followed with Lexi’s lightweight for reserve grand.  This was a good pair of banner goats.

Although, I was planning on Braden going out on a high note, I am more pleased with how he handled not winning.  He was there as a mentor to our younger kids.  He put on showmanship clinics and gave advice.  He was good in defeat and immediately went to helping me with Lexi and her goat.  That my friends is what we are trying to build.  Sure, I want a banner animal, but the kid is more important.  THAT is why we show.  Congrats to Braden Shovanec and his family on a heckuva career.

I wasn’t planning on losing Lexi’s goat at KC, but a reserve grand at the royal is good.  A win is a win.  Take ’em when you can get ’em.  And that is one less good goat that will show at Woodward District in March.  Congrats to Lexi and her family on adding to an already good show season.

Looking back, Fledderjohan and I rode that dolly cart down that ramp. Then, the next day, we took home the big banners.  I guess if you want to win, you have to have no fear.  Congrats to all.

We’re Due!!

We haven’t got just plumb dang random on here in a while.  Let’s get random and cover a variety of topics.

I am going to start with the dangdest ending to a football game that I have ever seen.  I like the football coach Jim Harbaugh.  I liked watching him play for the Colts and I really like his coaching style–effective, wins and does not care what others think.  He already has people watching Michigan football–again.  Wow!  If you haven’t seen that muffed punt/returned for a touchdown deal, well, you need to.  Michigan State NEVER led until the clock struck ZEROES.  Crazy!!  Recently, I have had several urges to bet on some college football games.  I haven’t in a LONG time and several of these games are making me remember why.  I think that I will just continue to piss away some cash on some show animals.  At least, I can watch some kids mature and grow as a result.  Wait, that isn’t pissing away cash.  Some may ask “Have you lost your mind?”  I answer “NO”.  This is what I like to call “investing in our youth”.

Speaking of athletes…who gives a rat’s donkey that Lamar Odom is in a drug-induced coma while being in a Nevade whorehouse?  Remind me why this is news?  Why did I just waste time mentioning it?  IDK

And on a random note, at some point in time, I have obviously spilled something on this keyboard as the space bar sticks on the right side.  I am fairly sure that it is honey from a croissant last week.  I’m not sure if this Mac keyboard is dishwasher safe, but I’m going to find out.  I just hope that the dishwasher has run its cycle before the Dragon Lady gets home.   I think that I will take the batteries out just to be safe.

Happy Birthday to the happiest goat herder that you will ever encounter.  Jared Schneberger is celebrating a birthday on this fine Sunday.  Wish him luck!

I love it when the shuffle on the iTunes hits on an Eric Johnson song.  That dude can strum a gee-tar.  Wicked good songs.  How good you ask?  Good enough that he had a tune included on the original Guitar Hero video game.

And the American Royal Livestock Show takes place later this week.  I guess that we are going.  I don’t know what I am going to do all day Wednesday and Thursday.  They have a set of rules at the royal.  NO–clippers, stands, drenching and NO Blowers.  I’m fine with the lack of clipping, drenching and stands, but dang dude, it’s hard to keep one clean without a blower.  Oh well.  I guess if I really don’t like the rules, I don’t have to go.  But, we are going.  Duke isn’t going to win the show, but we are going to eat some BBQ and do some father/son stuff.

I like to read. As a kid, I read most of the great literary classics.  I also read a set of World Book Encyclopedias while sitting on the throne.  Not in one sitting, but over a few days.  Now, I read lots of crap–message boards, blogs, emails, texts.   I check in on other blog type deals.  Check out roamingokie.com.  It is a new blog.  Let’s see if this chick can write enough to keep it fun.  I like the “Music Obsessions” post.  Keep it coming.

Speaking of fun chicks.  Kela is getting ready for another adventure to different parts of the world with that tv show that she collects a paycheck from.  I don’t know where they are going, just the fact that they are going.

       Nomination/validation dates are RAPIDLY approaching.

Winch, Wench or Wrench.   They are three completely different deals.

Let’s recap before the bell rings–crazy football game, honey on a keyboard, J-RODs b-day, Eric Johnson gee-tar songs, the ROYAL, reading crap, Kela adventures, nominations and the right answer in this case is Winch.  Random yes. Done, yes.  Have a good day and a better tomorrow.
