Thoughts from Kelln

Monday

Posted on August 05, 2013

Last night, we had to deal with the down-side of getting rain–mosquitos.  We hadn’t seen many of them all summer, but they have now shown themselves.  It’s only fitting, as they can hang with all of the flies and these dang grasshoppers.          Time to start getting goats broke to lead and show.  It is 2 months away to the Tulsa state fair.  Time to get to work.  Tis the

15

Posted on August 03, 2013

Fifteen. In years, that is a decade plus five more years. After more than fifteen years, the Dragon Lady worked her last day for Chesapeake Energy. She parted on good terms. She had enough driving for awhile. She had a really good run there and has a lot of fond memories. It’s tough to work at one place for 15 years, especially while driving a LOT the last 8 years. What’s next? I’m waiting to

Humid

Posted on August 02, 2013

It has been rather humid the past week and a half in this part of the world.  Goats tend to back off of feed when it is humid.  If you watch the doe herd, they will lay around more when the humidity is high.  Kids will just about cut their feed consumption in half.  The thing that all goat breeders/showers should remember is that theses animals come from a very dry climate.  And

Randomness

Posted on August 01, 2013

Let’s get random like a wandering pot bellied pig.  Who knows where it is going next?  (By the way, I saw one tonight)  Talk about random crap.  I’m a mile and a half south of Fargo, OK on my way home tonight, listening to Winger and is that a dog, or a….I think it is… a….WTH?….Is that a…holy Batman, that is a pig going out of the ditch into that yard towards that

Hacked!!!

Posted on July 31, 2013

I got hacked!! Kelln Livestock got hacked by some dang computer hacker.  I think the chinese national’s hacked me.   I had been getting a lot of spam emails that involved chinese letters.  I couldn’t read them, otherwise, I might have known that I was getting ready to get hacked.  Why would the chinese hack Kelln Livestock?  Well, there is lots of great information dispensed on this website and they wanted a piece

Trips

Posted on July 24, 2013

I like taking a trip.  Let’s not confuse a trip with a vacation.  I don’t like being gone for extended periods of time. I’m almost always fine with a day or two. Three, four or five days turns into a logistical nightmare.  Who will feed?  Who will do it right?  What if something goes wrong?  However, they can be one in the same.  It just depends.        I’ve had some really

Happiness

Posted on July 23, 2013

Happiness is that time of the month when you don’t have to worry about bills being in the mailbox.  It makes one happy to find checks in the mail.  True happiness are checks in the bank.      Another form of happiness in my world–no more goats to band this year, no more goats to dehorn this year.  Only one more set to wean.  Then the feed bill drops–does on pasture–not on hay

More stuff

Where else but an airport can a person lie down anywhere, use luggage for pillows, wear anything as long it is comfortable & you aren’t naked & spend piles on magazines & other crap you normally wouldn’t buy? We had a large time at Fenway. Red Sox/Yankees- the best rivalry in sports. Great night for a ball game. We watched BP and came close to getting a ball– it took a bad hop to the

Thoughts

Saw some cool historical stuff. Took a duck tour around the city & in the harbor. The USS Consitution, aka “Old Ironsides” is pretty cool to see. They also have a neat aquarium that has a heck of a penguin exhibit. I asked the ticket taker if penguin’s were on the menu. She laughed & said , “Sure.” She then realized that I meant to eat. I think a lot of taxi drivers are from

Journey

Posted on July 18, 2013

I’m currently on a journey. Not gone looking for goats, but supposedly on a vacation. I told the Dragon Lady that I want to go somewhere that is cooler than Nw Ok. that worked out well as it is cool & wet at home & hot as heck here. I’m not sure if I’m having fun yet, but have seen some cool stuff. Fenway Park and a few other parts of Boston. Found a good
