Not going

Posted on September 02, 2016

I am not in San Angelo nor am I headed to San Angelo this weekend.  Why?  I haven’t heard of any wicked bucks being offered this weekend.  I don’t need any more does.  And I’ve got plenty to do around here. The Best of the West sale is shaping up to be very good.  There are several elite wethers that will be offered as well as a bunch of well-bred goats that have the right

It wasn’t the Chinese this time.  It was some perverts. got hacked and they made their own email from email account.  Whoever did it, sent out some pretty serious requests.  (You know it’s pretty graphic if I think that it was bad!) I would at least like to know if the recips of these hacked emails were hot chicks or not.  But now, thanks to Julie Milligan, we are like Mike & Mike

Duke and I were talking to some guys.  A ladies name came up.  I asked the question, “Is she a good cook?”  Immediately, one of them replied, “She can’t even spell the word cook.” I took some boys to help load some boxes of food at a church and then took these boxes to the county food pantry.  While we were unloading, the dude that oversees the food pantry came out carrying a

The weather has been unreal here in paradise for the past couple of weeks.  Highs in the 80s, evenings in the 60s with a mild breeze.  Hard to believe that it is August in western Oklahoma. The does are weaned and the babies are pounding feed.  We’ll sell a few on Labor Day at the Best of the West.  There will be a couple at the OYE sale in September and the rest will be

Spider Dance

There is a spider that consistently builds a web inside the pathway in one of our sheds.  The web extends from the side of the shed and extends across the walkway and hooks up to a gate.  The gate gets opened at least twice a day.  Upon opening this gate, it breaks the web loose.  The spider first began building this web a couple of weeks ago.  The first couple of mornings, I walked into

July of 2014, I told Shattuck schools that I would teach for a year so that they could find a good teacher.  Here, we go for the 3rd year.  Today, is the 1st day back to school.  Big fun!

What a wonderful Sunday!!!   This dude got up and did chores then cleaned up and headed to Mass.  Got done with the spiritual stuff and gave the youngest brother a lift home, but first I made him go grocery shopping with me.  With nothing on the calendar today, I decided to fire up the smoker.   Spare ribs, turkey breast, goat tenderloin, round steak (bologna) and hot links.  Boiled up some ears of corn

You bought what?

I actually had a Saturday planned to get personal stuff done.  Brush beat, tear down kidding pens, wean does, move goats–check, check– got it all done.  But I was 30 minutes later than I wanted to be.  I quickly showered and jumped in the pickup and headed towards Pfeiffer’s sale.  I made it about 55 miles and realized that I did not have my black bag with me.  Tammy calls it my “murse”.  That black

Yeah, I witnessed the speech from a retired ag teacher that is making all the news.  I also witnessed the other retiree speeches that were AWESOME.  The absolute best part of summer conference is the retiree speeches.  Yes, I personally know Larry Long as well as the young man that was “awarded” the kkk outfit.  This is a good, young ag ed teacher that has already said, “That he was not offended.”  That needs to

I have called facebook a “STD–Socially Transmitted Disease.”  It has its place and can definitely be a positive tool.  But too many people just sit and scroll, like and all that other crap that goes with it.  I don’t know enough about snapchat or instagram to even comment, but I am sure that they fall into the same category. Texting is another problem area.  It is obviously a very useful, cheap and easy form of
