Best Phrases

Posted on December 08, 2017

You can sit and think of the best phrases that you have ever heard.  The best should be “I love you.”  Or “Amen.”  And how about “Thank Goodness”.  All of these are wicked good and normally put somebody in a good mood.  BUT…. But, if you live in NW OK, one of the best phrases that you will here is “At least there isn’t any wind with it.”   Which means, “Yeah, sure!  It was

Hot!!

Posted on December 06, 2017

Well, those does that we pulled cidrs on yesterday morning were hot tonight.  You can even add another that I thought was bred.  She was hot to trot tonight. There is a pot pie cooling off for me to eat tonight.  We are counting down the weeks till I can order my favorite turkey pot pie in some major city out west.  Not looking forward to the drive and I didn’t like having to pay

Comparisons

Posted on December 05, 2017

I, like a lot of people, have watched some of this college football playoff selection crap.  I have no issues with Clemson, ou or Georgia.  I do NOT think that Ohio State or USC have a claim.  They lost too many games and some of them ugly. My problem, is why not Wisconsin?  I’m not a fan of theirs or their schedule.  But they only lost one game, in a conference championship game and they

Uncle Jeffy Spake came by to wish Duke happy 17th birthday.  He even helped blow out candles.  But, this is November 30 and Duke’s birthday isn’t till the 1st.   They talked about some Fire Rocket chickens.  It took me a bit to clue in.  I think Uncle Spake had some ulterior motives. Speaking of stories, had a gentleman here dropping off does to get bred.  He asked Duke about welding projects. Then he had

Stories

I have a few.  And dang neart everyone of them are real, from real life experiences.  Some of them are just too good to be true.  You just can’t make some stuff up. Tammy and I recently had a family friend pass away from cancer.  He wasn’t young, his family was prepared and  the end came fairly quick.  I’m not going to use names but there will be those who know who I am writing

ESPN Culture

Posted on November 28, 2017

It is the world that we live in.  ESPN has changed a lot in our society over the past 30 years.  I’m not knocking them.  I spent over the past decade starting my weekdays with Mike & Mike.  Now, since that show has come to a close, I started with a new show that still has Golic. We now analyze, rank and critique every high school, college and pro athlete.  There are numerous internet and

Thanksgiving weekend

Posted on November 26, 2017

I was ready for this break.  Although we weren’t in school, I did spend several days dealing with livestock projects.  Unfortunately, there were several pigs that need doctored. Thanksgiving day brought a pile of people to our house.  Smoked turkeys and LOTS of good eatings were provided.  The pile of pies that I bought did not stack up to the home-made pies. We did get a little bit redneck Thursday afternoon.  The weather was perfect

Short

Seems like some of the recent posts have gotten a bit long.  Not this one. Athletes are too glorified.  The nfl, baker mayfield and numerous others prove me right.  If they can’t act right…can their ass…no matter how good they are.  Too many $s.  The fans control it but won’t. Hunting is a skill but sometimes, it too is a bit glorified.  Duke shot a really nice deer.  It was supposed to be the Dragon

The End

Posted on November 19, 2017

Sometime around 1980.  It may have been 79 or 82.  I remember visiting at some of our cousins’ home.   My dad and this cousin were right at the same age and they liked to get together from time to time. I was snooping through their record collection.  Yes, as in vinyl records.  I remember seeing a record with a lightning bolt and a wicked looking caricature dressed as a school boy.  The title of

Crash! Boom! Pow!

Posted on November 16, 2017

I have been watching tv less than I usually do.  Granted, most of my tv watching takes place in the middle of the night, but I have been trying to change that.  I’ve been trying to learn how to sleep.  (It ain’t going well, but….)  With the sun setting early, I have been in the house earlier.  I did watch The Goldbergs on this fine evening.  Not that I am a fan of the show,
