\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 I spent most of last week hauling a team of livestock judgers.\u00a0 It was not our best week of marking cards.\u00a0 Not terrible.\u00a0 It just could’ve been better.\u00a0 Are the kids to blame?\u00a0 Sure.\u00a0 But the majority of the blame lies with me.\u00a0 I wasn’t prepared and in turn, I did not have them properly prepared.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 I’ll be honest.\u00a0 I did not want to go to the Big 3 Field Days.\u00a0 We live far enough away that we can’t drive back and forth.\u00a0 Therefore, we spend a pile of cash on hotels and eating out.\u00a0 Plus there is a lot of down time which leaves me to thinking about what I could be getting done at home.\u00a0 I wasn’t mentally ready and I did not work to have the kids ready.\u00a0 Thus a sub-par showing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Moving forward, I am getting ready for another school year to start.\u00a0 One week coming up with no “scheduled” school stuff.\u00a0 Then the next week of summer conference and then the next week brings the start of school.\u00a0 On purpose, I’ve stayed out of the shop.\u00a0 I’ve spent time preparing stuff for this year.\u00a0 I need another day or 3 fishing and then I will be mentally prepared and ready to roll.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0This weekend turned out to be good.\u00a0 Kela and a friend were getting ready to drive back to California.\u00a0 They have been at Grand Lake for the past 2 weeks.\u00a0 They stopped in Friday night and then left early on Saturday.\u00a0 Since she was driving, I was able to fill her ice chest with home-raised beef and pork.\u00a0 I feel better knowing she will have some high quality steaks and burgers.\u00a0 She also took a roll of Blue & Gold sausage.\u00a0 Can’t go wrong there.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Duke also showed up.\u00a0 With a new Corgi female puppy.\u00a0 Can’t go wrong there either.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0I’m prepared for some more of this miserable hot weather.\u00a0 Combined with the lack of rain, it isn’t always fun to live in western OK.\u00a0 I realize that some places are worse.\u00a0 And I pray for them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
