\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Growing up in Shattuck, OK, there was only one pizza option–Pizza Hut.\u00a0 As a result, Pizza Hut pizza has always been one of my favorites.\u00a0 The spring of 2020 brought lots of changes to the world.\u00a0 Although it was a busy Pizza Hut, corporate decided that the Shattuck Pizza Hut would become a casualty of COVID and we no longer have one.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Recently, I needed some chemical from Tractor Supply in Woodward.\u00a0 Tammy rode with me.\u00a0 On the way there, she said, “I’m not cooking tonight.\u00a0 Let’s get a pizza.”\u00a0 Great.\u00a0 She wanted to go to Pizza Hut in Woodward.\u00a0 I hadn’t been in there for awhile.\u00a0 And now I know why.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The first sign of issues was that it was 7:30 pm and we were the ONLY customers.\u00a0 A young lady seated us and took our order.\u00a0 They brought us our drinks.\u00a0 Oh no!\u00a0 The beers were luke-warm.\u00a0 This is an issue.\u00a0 About 30 minutes went by and finally another customer.\u00a0 It was a lady that I knew.\u00a0 She had called in her pizza order.\u00a0 We talked to her for a few minutes until her husband and son came in from little league ball games.\u00a0 They brought her their pizzas.\u00a0 Her son went to eating a slice or three.\u00a0 They gathered their pizzas up and headed out the door.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 About this time, a different waitress came to our table and asked if we would take 2 supreme pizzas.\u00a0 I said, “No.”\u00a0 She said, “We screwed up and have these pizzas instead of what you ordered.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
I said, “No.\u00a0 I would rather be kicked in the crotch than have to eat a pizza with bell peppers on it.”<\/p>\n
She said, “We could throw in a desert pizza as well.”<\/p>\n
Tammy was like, “Just bring us the pizza that we ordered.”\u00a0 The waitress walked into the back and yelled, “Go ahead and start making that thin crust with Canadian bacon and pepperoni.\u00a0 They don’t want those Supremes.”\u00a0 Oh lordy!! Here goes another 30 minutes of my life.\u00a0 And let me remind you, we were the only customers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Finally, they brought us our pizza.\u00a0 For starters, it was cut irregular.\u00a0 My OCD kicked into hyperdrive as I looked at the way some non-geometic sack of monkey crap had sliced the pizza.\u00a0 One slice that took up a 1\/4 of the pizza.\u00a0 A couple of very small slices.\u00a0 And it just didn’t look like a proper pizza.\u00a0 Tammy took a small slice and tried it.\u00a0 She said that it didn’t taste right.\u00a0 I fiddled around with a piece trying to figure out what was wrong.\u00a0 Ahaa!!\u00a0 It only had cheese on parts of the pizza and it didn’t have any sauce on it.\u00a0 How do you make a pizza without sauce?\u00a0 Tammy gathered up her things and said, “I’m going to the pickup.\u00a0 Do what you gotta do?”<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0I took the pizza to the front counter.\u00a0 A different lady that I had not previously seen schlubbed her way to the counter.\u00a0 “Can I help you?”\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Let’s cut to the chase and go ahead and get the manager.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Unfortunately that’s me”, she replied as she rolled her eyes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Nice attitude.\u00a0 We have a problem with our pizza.\u00a0 First, they tried to shove some Supremes at us.\u00a0 Second, it took almost an hour to get this pizza.\u00a0 And then, it isn’t sliced right and it doesn’t have sauce nor the right amount of cheese on it.\u00a0 There is just enough cheese to kind of hold a pepperoni in place.”\u00a0 I never cursed or yelled at anybody.\u00a0 I just pointed out the problems.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
She looked at me and sighed, “What do you want me to do about it?”<\/p>\n
“Well, I’m not paying for it.”\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
“Okay.\u00a0 I wouldn’t either.\u00a0 Will you pay for your beers?”<\/p>\n
I said, “That’s another thing.\u00a0 They are warm.”<\/p>\n
She said, “That’s because it is hot here in the lobby.”\u00a0 I said, “Put them in the cooler.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
She then said, “The cooler doesn’t work well.”<\/p>\n
I said, “Get it fixed.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
She replied, “Owner won’t let me.”<\/p>\n
I then said, “Here’s the money for the beers and I will not be coming back.\u00a0 Have a good evening.”\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Guess what?\u00a0 The lady that got her pizzas to go was supposed to have 2 Supreme pizzas.\u00a0 Instead they made her 2 pepperoni & Canadian bacon.\u00a0 Her son was already eating a couple of slices, so she just decided to keep them.\u00a0 It isn’t her fault.\u00a0 Two customers and two orders screwed up.\u00a0 I don’t care what business you are in, going Ofer is never a good batting average.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0For decades, Pizza Hut was the #1 pizza supplier in the world.\u00a0 Now, they have fallen to #2 behind Domino’s.\u00a0 By closing Shattuck and letting a crew of mouth-breathers run the one at Woodward, I would say that they will continue to lose ground.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Now, I was pissed and hungry.\u00a0 Screwed over by a bunch of lazy sacks of crap who couldn’t even make a pizza.\u00a0 So, we went home.\u00a0 While leaving Woodward, an alert on my phone went off.\u00a0 What?\u00a0 I checked the alert.\u00a0 It was a reminder of a Dr. appointment for the next day.\u00a0 I had set the alert a year ago.\u00a0 Unbelievable timing!\u00a0 After getting screwed right in the donkey by pizza hut, I now had a reminder that I was going to get a finger up my rear to check the ol prostate.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
That was a nice evening.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
People have a good day today and a better one tomorrow.\u00a0 And I suggest getting a Papa John’s or Hunt Brothers pizza.<\/p>\n
