\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0In all seriousness, it has ended up being a fun yet, un-productive weekend.\u00a0 I think?<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 At 7 pm Friday night, I was finishing up feeding cattle and cracking my first cold one.\u00a0 I was thinking about all that I was going to do on Saturday.\u00a0 An hour later my head was spinning.\u00a0 Go or no go?\u00a0 Road trip?\u00a0 Then at 5 am Saturday, I was getting in a pickup with Steven & Kyler Rogers and headed south of Stephenville, TX.\u00a0 WTF?\u00a0 \u00a0People, this is how you see new stuff.\u00a0 You just don’t pass up an opportunity.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0They were going to pick up bred-does at Payton Williams.\u00a0 I had seen pics of his bucks BUT\u00a0 I wanted to see what they looked like in real life.\u00a0 Real glad that I made the trip.\u00a0 For numerous reasons.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
One—Kyler zipped up his “wooter” in his zipper at a quick stop in Jacksboro.\u00a0 No, I didn’t see it.\u00a0 But he told me & the rest of the quick stop about it, asked if I wanted to see and Steven told me about dealing with it.\u00a0 You can’t make this stuff up.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Two–Let’s be real.\u00a0 This trip took me to the Hard 8 BBQ.\u00a0 We didn’t eat much.\u00a0 Just some smoked turkey, bologna, brisket, damn good jalapeno sausage, a thick pork chop dipped in lemon, garlic butter sauce (so good, you need to be naked to eat it), pork ribs and some poppers.\u00a0 And I had ONE shiner bock beer in a frozen fish bowl of a mug.\u00a0 Why one?\u00a0 \u00a0I’m still asking myself that question.\u00a0 It was the single best beer that I have had in 2021 (and I’ve had several that rank really high) and I wasn’t driving.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Three–I never drove.\u00a0 I don’t remember a trip since 2008 that I didn’t drive.\u00a0 AT ALL!!\u00a0 \u00a0Normally, I always drive.\u00a0 It’s a new world.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Four–I didn’t write a check.\u00a0 What?\u00a0 A goat trip and I didn’t buy something.\u00a0 NOTHING.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Sunday found found me west of Fairview at Tammy’s family Christmas.\u00a0 Great group of people that LOVE the grandkids!!\u00a0 \u00a0This is one of the two or three times a year that I know that I have to hug somebody AND take a damn picture.\u00a0 My FAVORITE mother-in-law deserves a hug and she loves a yearly picture with the family.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Those of you that truly don’t know me, only think of me as a borderline mean, confrontational and stand-offish bastard.\u00a0 And you would be correct.\u00a0 Except, that I’m not mean.\u00a0 I love witnessing how close my kids are with BOTH sets of grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.\u00a0 Our family isn’t perfect…not at all. However, it somehow works out quite well.\u00a0 Almost perfectly.\u00a0 Well, except for the grandkids.\u00a0 And they are damn sure perfect!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Oh, this is a goat blog?!?!?\u00a0 \u00a0 Back to those bucks that Payton Williams owns.\u00a0 I have met him before.\u00a0 I don’t know him.\u00a0 He wasn’t there when we loaded does.\u00a0 I don’t owe him a thing, he doesn’t know I was there and he doesn’t owe me a thing.\u00a0 Well.\u00a0 He might now.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
I got to look at and handle Tag Me In and Hidden Treasures.\u00a0 I had seen the pics and videos.\u00a0 When Rogers asked me about breeding to these bucks and told me the price…my reply, “Hunh. You won’t get hurt.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
I stand corrected.\u00a0 Money well spent.\u00a0 This pair of bucks are legit.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
I need to stop.\u00a0 The week coming forth looks fun.\u00a0 Kela is home.\u00a0 Duke is within a couple of hours.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
