\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Everybody has their vice.\u00a0 I struggle with one more than others….Mountain Dew.\u00a0 Yes, I enjoy getting all jacked up on Mt. Dew.\u00a0 Haaa!\u00a0 Not the vice that you would think.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Growing up, I didn’t drink much pop.\u00a0 Just on occasional one here or there.\u00a0 Unless, I had a stomach issue.\u00a0 At that point, Mom would break out the 7 UP.\u00a0 \u00a0I’ve never had the jones for a Dr. Pepper, unlike others in my immediate family.\u00a0 In college, I drank some Pepsi.\u00a0 Later in life, a vanilla coke.\u00a0 And then, early one morning, I hit up a Mountain Dew.\u00a0 And not just any Mt. Dew.\u00a0 It needs to be Dew from the fountain with about a 3\/8 of a cup edible ice.\u00a0 Yes, ice small enough that I can eat it.\u00a0 I don’t care for it out of a can or a bottle.\u00a0 It just isn’t the same.\u00a0 And yes, some quick stops have their fountains set on a little bit stronger mix.\u00a0 Across the state, I know which ones to stop at.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 I only imbibe on this addiction, early in the morning.\u00a0 Normally about 6:30.\u00a0 Never after 10 am.\u00a0 And I only want one per day.\u00a0 And actually, I only have 2 or 3 per week.\u00a0 If you have one every day, the taste isn’t as crisp and the caffeine\/sugar rush isn’t as stout.\u00a0 If I go a week and then have one, I can literally feel my eyes dilate and the capillaries swell up a bit.\u00a0\u00a0Stock shows is when I crave a Mountain Dew the most.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0In March of ’19, I dislocated a hip.\u00a0 I was told to abstain from caffeine.\u00a0 Which I did.\u00a0 I quit drinking gallons of iced tea per day.\u00a0 Quit the dew.\u00a0 Drinking coffee has never been a thing for me, so that wasn’t hard to stay away from.\u00a0 The 2 years of ONLY having 3 Mt. Dews was hard.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Then, last spring, on a judging trip, I spied a slushee machine that had a Mountain Dew flavor.\u00a0 Well, that would be okay.\u00a0 Oh!\u00a0 It was so good.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Then, there was another quick stop with a Dew slushee.\u00a0 So good.\u00a0 Now, I know where to stop to get a Mountain Dew slushee.\u00a0 Except it is amazing at how often the Dew slushee is NOT ready to serve.\u00a0 What in the hell?\u00a0 I don’t want the other flavors that have a green light.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Anyways, the Mountain Dew slushees have turned into a gateway drug for me.\u00a0 It led me right back to the fountain.\u00a0 Oohh!!\u00a0 The rush!\u00a0 \u00a0And after several months of getting jacked on the Dew, I now realize that I have to monitor myself.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 You want to know something that I can live without?\u00a0 Do ya?\u00a0 I will tell you.\u00a0 DOE goats.\u00a0 I don’t miss them.\u00a0 No addiction problems there.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
