\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Yes, the American Royal was this past weekend.\u00a0 Yes, I went to Kansas City.\u00a0 No, I did not attend the American Royal.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 As RJ Curry said in his retirement video, “As an ag teacher, you never know what you will be doing from day to day.\u00a0 There is always something that needs doing.”\u00a0 He isn’t wrong.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 I had planned on going with Clayton Washmon to show sheep at the Royal.\u00a0 But, his sheep broke with fungus, so he didn’t go.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0A couple of months ago, I had noticed that Andrea Bocelli was in concert on the Saturday evening after the Royal.\u00a0 I asked Tammy if it fit her schedule.\u00a0 We would go watch Clayton, stay an extra night and go see a show.\u00a0 In my previous tours of duty teaching Ag at Fairview and Waynoka, I would not have done this.\u00a0 Too much stuff to do.\u00a0 I would have been home on Friday night and then doing whatever needed done–pig shopping, CDE practices, speech deals, worming show wethers, trimming hooves, whatever.\u00a0 \u00a0Now, things changed and I said, “The hell with it, we are still going.”\u00a0 \u00a0Dang glad that I did.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Congrats to whoever did well at the Royal.\u00a0 I’m really glad that I did not even bother going out to the show.\u00a0 Tammy is even happier.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
