\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Sometimes, this dang blog feels like an unpaid job.\u00a0 Other times, it feels good to pound the keyboard.\u00a0 And yet, other times, you just wish, that maybe, this is all a bad dream and it didn’t even exist.\u00a0 And then crap gets real.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Things got real during third hour today, food science class, on this fine Thursday.\u00a0 \u00a0Now, just to give the readership some background, this is a class of all seniors.\u00a0 Yes, we discuss things like the 8, soon to be 9, major food allergens.\u00a0 Other topics include nasty cheeses, bell peppers, mustard and tomatoes.\u00a0 (All nasty except for mustard!) Today, we spent about 15 minutes discussing the proper & improper methods of euthanizing chickens.\u00a0 In the next week or so, we will butcher broilers in class.\u00a0 Yes, a couple of them are a little too excited and a couple don’t want no part of this activity.\u00a0 It doesn’t matter which side they are on, things are going to get real.\u00a0 Also, in this class, we cook things.\u00a0 Not every week, but every so often.\u00a0 Not quite home ec class, but at least they understand the different cooking methods and how ag products are utilized.\u00a0 Fun class?\u00a0 YES!\u00a0 \u00a0We also find time to work on ag mechanics, public speaking, scholarships, community service and basically whatever we want to do from time to time, as the need arises.\u00a0 In short, when we get time, we cook stuff and talk about the ag products utilized and the methods used to produce these products.\u00a0 One would have to really piss me off in order to not make a B in this class.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 On this day, one of the girls asked a direct question to me.\u00a0 She said, “Hey, Mr. Kelln, I have to write three blog posts for an assignment.\u00a0 How do I need to write them?”\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Not thinking, I asked, “What, specifically, do you mean?”\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0She then asked, “Do I need to keep it in paragraph form or just double space in between so I can keep things straight?”<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Instinctively, I answered, “Keep it as grammatically correct as possible.”\u00a0 Then I asked, “Did you say three blog posts?”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Oh snap!!!!\u00a0 \u00a0I now see where this is going.\u00a0 So, I tried to be as professional and educational as…..I tried.\u00a0 I tried to answer questions as how to write three different blog posts.\u00a0 Right about the moment that I am answering questions to a student that has read THIS blog, another student asks the obvious, “How come you are asking Mr. Kelln about how to write a blog?”<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Her reply, “Duh, he’s been writing one for years!”\u00a0 \u00a0REAL!<\/p>\n
My reply–Write one blog post that is informative.\u00a0 Write one that is personal, almost like a journal or diary.\u00a0 Write another one that is like an advertisement or review.\u00a0 “Just remember that some people make money from a blog.\u00a0 I don’t.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
As I was answering her questions, I was also asking questions of myself.\u00a0 And as I am typing tonight, I am still asking and trying to answer these questions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
1–Keep it informative.\u00a0 Answer a question that readers will appreciate.\u00a0 Which brings up this question–What is the target market for the readers of this blog?\u00a0 \u00a0Who are the readers?<\/p>\n
Answer–started out as a goat page.\u00a0 But, then rapidly shifted to a livestock page.\u00a0 Now, it trends towards an ag teacher page, yet there are some readers that are just waiting for the next train wreck.\u00a0 (I hate typing on this laptop–I may go find a rusty ice pick and stab myself).\u00a0 I TRULY do hope that readers learn something.\u00a0 Yet, still, if you don’t, it is your own fault because you clicked to this page of your own volition.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Answer–NO!\u00a0 \u00a0Everybody likes to rank sports, movies, songs, whatever.\u00a0 We like stories.\u00a0 LOVE real life stories.\u00a0 It is cool that I get texts asking about the Dragon Lady (now known coast2coast, border2border), Duke or what adventure is Kela now on.\u00a0 Now, I am real sure that there are a couple of judges and some crooked sacks of monkey crap that do NOT enjoy reading this blog.\u00a0 Yet, they have read it.\u00a0 Yes, they have.\u00a0 They probably had to have a buddy say, “DUDE!\u00a0 Have you seen?” And then they read it and then have to decide their next step.\u00a0 You know what?\u00a0 If the shoe fits, they can take their own shoe and shove it ………”<\/p>\n
