{"id":4458,"date":"2021-07-22T03:05:06","date_gmt":"2021-07-22T03:05:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=4458"},"modified":"2021-07-22T03:05:09","modified_gmt":"2021-07-22T03:05:09","slug":"retarded-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/retarded-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Retarded"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 I am aware that some people are &#8220;offended&#8221; by the use of the word retarded.\u00a0 Well, this is not the correct web address if you are easily offended.\u00a0 And is it wrong to use the R word if I&#8217;m referring to myself?\u00a0 NO!!\u00a0 And if you don&#8217;t agree to any of this&#8230;..well, then&#8230;..you either need to click to a different website or you, yourself are retarded.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 A week ago Wednesday morning, I was just like every other FFA\/4H livestock judging coach.\u00a0 &#8220;Well hell!\u00a0 They cancelled Big 3 Field Days.\u00a0 I need to cancel some hotel rooms.&#8221;\u00a0 I had some other choice words that passed across my brain and therefore, without control, directly out of my mouth.\u00a0 But since I was by myself at the time, nobody knows what else I said.\u00a0 That is a good thing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0A few minutes later, Clay Hamil called.\u00a0 He is the ag teacher at Arnett.\u00a0 He was upset and he asked, &#8220;Why don&#8217;t you see if we can have a contest at Woodward?&#8221;\u00a0 And this is where my retardation comes in to play.\u00a0 I was too, or to, or two stupid to say no.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 I contacted Bailey that runs the Woodward County Event Center &amp; Fairgrounds.\u00a0 She told me that there were open dates.\u00a0 A few texts, several phone calls and HOLY SCHNIKES!!!\u00a0 This is getting ready to be fur real.\u00a0 We were getting ready to have a livestock judging contest.\u00a0 Bailey went to scheduling things with judgingcard.com.\u00a0 Clay went to hunting hog classes and I walked over to the ag pickup and slammed my head in the door a couple of times.\u00a0 Then I went to gathering classes.\u00a0 I emailed Mrs. Abbey to make a flier.\u00a0 AND THEN it really got retarded.\u00a0 Amber Rhinehart texted and said, &#8220;What can I do to help?&#8221;\u00a0 \u00a0Wait, what?\u00a0 How does anybody else know?\u00a0 She is the ag teacher at Fargo.\u00a0 \u00a0So, I asked her to gather group leaders.\u00a0 She did.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Let&#8217;s set the record straight.\u00a0 This was not my original idea.\u00a0 Hamil just threw a slow-pitch toss to me and dared me to hit it.\u00a0 And it got hit.\u00a0 And I had a lot of help.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 This was not a slam at OSU for cancelling BIG 3.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t agree with their cancellation but we all knew it was coming.\u00a0 I, and lots of others, were not going to just sit and watch this current BS to cause kids to lose another year of activities.\u00a0 THAT, being this shut-down environment, is what is actually retarded!\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t care if we went to Stillwater or Woodward.\u00a0 Dad gum it!\u00a0 (sure, I use those words!)\u00a0 We are not going through another shut down.\u00a0 You can.\u00a0 It&#8217;s your choice.\u00a0 And we choose not to.\u00a0 That&#8217;s it.\u00a0 That simple.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0So, since I am obviously retarded, why did I do it?\u00a0 Here is the following list.<\/p>\n<p>1&#8211;For the kids.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>2&#8211;For the kids.<\/p>\n<p>3&#8211;For the kids.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0I am a cocky bastard but I absolutely love it when ag teachers can work together for a common good.\u00a0 The newly founded ECATA&#8211;Ellis County Ag Teachers Association&#8211;rocked this deal in conjunction with Bailey and Thad at the Woodward County Fairgrounds.\u00a0 Throw in the Woodward Chamber of Commerce, Bank of Western Oklahoma, Arnett New Holland, etc.\u00a0 We had great support!!\u00a0 I literally had to turn away people that offered to bring animals, cook lunch (too many people to provide a free lunch)&#8230;that&#8217;s a good problem, to have too much help.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0All of the help from other ag teachers, parents, students, etc. that served as officials, group leaders and brought animals.\u00a0 HUGE THANKS!!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Thanks to Daryle Greer for providing two breeding doe classes; Mike Weber for a breeding ewe class; Troy Gosney &amp; Shane Curry for a breeding gilt class; Clay Hamil for going to OSU to get a couple of market hog classes (they weren&#8217;t going to use them); Denny Jenkins for the Angus bull class;\u00a0 Clayton Washmon for the commercial heifer class and the wether dam ewe class. (He fiddyed one class and not the other..typical)\u00a0 And John Q.
