{"id":4432,"date":"2021-07-03T02:33:38","date_gmt":"2021-07-03T02:33:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=4432"},"modified":"2021-07-03T02:33:40","modified_gmt":"2021-07-03T02:33:40","slug":"the-big-pitchman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/the-big-pitchman\/","title":{"rendered":"The BIG pitchman"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 So, the other night, I am lying on the couch, watching the tv.\u00a0 Can&#8217;t even remember what I was watching.\u00a0 A commercial came on, then another, then another.\u00a0 All 3 commercials had the same pitchman.\u00a0 Hunh?!?!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 I like the dude.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t really care what he is selling.\u00a0 However, he always catches my attention.\u00a0 Probably why he is on 3 back to back to back commercials.\u00a0 The commercial that really caught my attention was a Papa John&#8217;s commercial.\u00a0 I like their pizza.\u00a0 But this commercial got me to thinking.\u00a0 Why is Shaquille O&#8217;Neal selling Papa John&#8217;s pizza AND why does he look like the Bumble from the animated Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer?\u00a0 SERIOUSLY!!\u00a0 \u00a0Watch that commercial.\u00a0 Shaq in a white wig and crappy moustache looks like the Bumble that was taken down by Yukon Cornelius.\u00a0 He looks like he is getting ready to put the star on the top of the Christmas tree.\u00a0 Shit you not!\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 I enjoyed watching basketball in the 80s &amp; 90s.\u00a0 Now, not so much.\u00a0 I liked watching Shaq at LSU and then the Magic and the Lakers.\u00a0 After that, who cares.\u00a0 \u00a0However, that dude has stayed relevant and he is always comical.\u00a0 The video of him eating the ghost pepper on the nba show is funny.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Read &#8220;The Big Pitchman&#8221; on nba.com.\u00a0 It is interesting.\u00a0 Shaq has 3 rules for what products he endorses.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>1&#8211;The product must be affordable to the average consumer.<\/p>\n<p>2&#8211;He must believe in the product and use it himself.<\/p>\n<p>3&#8211;The commercials must bring laughter.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 But, the General Insurance?\u00a0 When he got to LSU, he bought a Bronco II for $1,500.\u00a0 He needed insurance.\u00a0 He got The General insurance for $19 a month.\u00a0 There you go.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Icy Hot.\u00a0 One of the Laker&#8217;s trainers used it on Shaq.\u00a0 Now, this is his longest running endorsement.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And Papa John&#8217;s.\u00a0 Well, go read the story.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0This dude was a badass athlete but he is either a business genius or surrounded by really good advisors.\u00a0 He made a lot playing a game but he has made a 1\/2 BILLION since.\u00a0 The story even talks about his biggest mistake.\u00a0 starbucks coffee.\u00a0 &#8220;I&#8217;m from the hood &amp; I ain&#8217;t never seen a starbucks.
