That is a wrong statement.\u00a0 I LOVE good music!\u00a0 Don&#8217;t care if it is rap, country, red dirt, rock, opera, whatever.\u00a0 I love good music.\u00a0 Now, most probably think that rock music, especially 80&#8217;s rock is my favorite.\u00a0 They would be kind of right.\u00a0 Trust me.\u00a0 A Def Leppard, Tesla, Motley Crue, AC\/DC, Van Halen deal is right up my alley.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0However, great country music is hard to beat.\u00a0 Very little of this new stuff qualifies as good country music. A couple of weeks ago, I saw a book face post of a picture that had a bunch of the country greats gathered together.\u00a0 I forwarded this to a freshman student that LOVES old school country music.\u00a0 I&#8217;m talking George Jones, Eddie Arnold, Jim Reeves kind of stuff.\u00a0 \u00a0He loves Old school!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Now, I&#8217;m thinking about the group of country artists that I would like to walk in and see together.\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard.\u00a0 Harder than I thought.\u00a0 \u00a0Why?\u00a0 Well, I&#8217;ll tell you why.\u00a0 How do you handle the groups?\u00a0 Seriously.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll get back to that.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0We need a big table.\u00a0 Several big tables.\u00a0 Gruene Hall long table style with multiple rows of tables.\u00a0 If you&#8217;ve never been there, well you should.\u00a0 \u00a0Here we go.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Front table has George Jones, Tammy Wynette, George Strait, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynne, Conway Twitty, Patsy Cline &amp; Hank Sr.\u00a0 \u00a0You can&#8217;t argue with any of those.\u00a0 The pic that I looked at did NOT have George Strait in it.\u00a0 You can&#8217;t have a country legends pic without King George.\u00a0 Can&#8217;t!\u00a0 Invalid picture.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Next table has Marty Robbins, Charlie Daniels, Keith Whitley, Don Williams and Randy Travis.\u00a0 I love those dude&#8217;s music.\u00a0 Love it! So good.\u00a0 I can drive for hours listening to their work.\u00a0 The superstars at the other tables look up to these dudes.\u00a0 Seriously, is the best country song of all time &#8221; The Devil went down to Georgia&#8221;?\u00a0 Hard to argue.\u00a0 Marty Robbins, Keith Whitley, Don Williams and Randy Travis &#8220;sound&#8221; like country music.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Another table has Garth Brooks, Shania Twain and Reba McEntire.\u00a0 Damn!\u00a0 How many records have those people sold?\u00a0 These might be the most commercialized country artists of all-time.\u00a0 There is a reason why.\u00a0 They are so good.\u00a0 And they have a history of giving back and helping up &amp; coming artists.\u00a0 Oh, there is room for another.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s seat Alan Jackson at this table.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The next table would be seated just out of the camera view.\u00a0 However, this table has Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Hank Jr., &amp; Merle Haggard.\u00a0 I have never smoked a joint nor taken any drugs.\u00a0 But let&#8217;s be real.\u00a0 If seated at that table, it would be hard to say no.\u00a0 Musically, maybe the best table group.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 Back to the groups.\u00a0 The Oak Ridge Boys and Alabama change things.\u00a0 Either one might be the best country music artist(s) of all time.\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard to argue the &#8220;oom poppa oom poppa mow mow&#8221; of Richard Sterban.\u00a0 Who you ask?\u00a0 Yeah, you know it.\u00a0 The bass from the Oaks.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve got a story about a former student and the Oak Ridge Boys at the Tulsa State Fair.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll have to remember to tell it.\u00a0 And Alabama&#8230;.well, you can drive for hours and listen to nothing but hits from that group.\u00a0 And I have a story about meeting Randy Owen at the Hereford Jr. Nationals.\u00a0 Both of these groups need their own table.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s also pull up a couple of chairs for Brooks &amp; Dunn.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0So who is the greatest country music artist of all-time?\u00a0 In my opinion, Garth is still working towards the top.\u00a0 He is trying to get ahead of George Strait.\u00a0 And they would both agree that Dolly is the queen.\u00a0 Although, the Dragon Lady says it is &#8220;Reba&#8221;.\u00a0 I won&#8217;t argue with anybody that says that Alabama is the best.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 George is the king and paved the way for Garth.\u00a0 Today, George but when it is all said and done, Garth will be the best country artist ever.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t care if you agree or not.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve had fun listening to tunes while typing this crap.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>(no sign off)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 \u00a0I like music.\u00a0 NO.
