{"id":4174,"date":"2021-02-17T02:04:51","date_gmt":"2021-02-17T02:04:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=4174"},"modified":"2021-02-17T02:22:29","modified_gmt":"2021-02-17T02:22:29","slug":"my-ass","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/my-ass\/","title":{"rendered":"My Ass!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rolling blackout?!?!\u00a0 \u00a0Seriously????\u00a0 \u00a0Who makes these terms up?<\/p>\n<p>And NO warning when the &#8220;rolling blackout&#8221; is going to hit.\u00a0 Imagine a hog farm with a farrowing barn full of babies.\u00a0 A greenhouse full of plugs and young plants.\u00a0 Damn!\u00a0 \u00a0 Give them some warning so that they can get a propane heater or a generator going.\u00a0 Come on, man!<\/p>\n<p>Common sense.\u00a0 A simple message from the Southwest Power Pool (who ever heard of them before this week?) to their member companies&#8211;&#8220;Hey, we are cutting your power from this time to this time.&#8221;\u00a0 Then, the individual companies could notify their customers.\u00a0 &#8220;These lines will be off from this time to this time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And I could give a baboon&#8217;s red ass about these &#8220;grow houses&#8221; that have recently been built in Oklahoma or elsewhere for that matter.\u00a0 Anybody that voted for ANY of the current ass hats in office should have their power cut&#8211;potus, senate, house&#8211;they all need to be gone.\u00a0 Guess what?\u00a0 I still have power as I didn&#8217;t vote for any of them.\u00a0 Send all of them out into the Frigidaire and let them earn their keep, just like all of us.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of common sense.\u00a0 All over the midwest, border to border, people are risking their lives to care for livestock, take care of neighbors and do what they can do to take care of their own.\u00a0 Vet clinics are full of newborn calves that are dealing with hypothermia, or didn&#8217;t get colostrum and need a blood transfusion or frost bit parts.\u00a0 There will be a lot of bulls that won&#8217;t fertility test this spring.\u00a0 People are working to keep power going, water lines flowing, barns\/houses heated, trucking supplies to all corners of this nation&#8230;yet, we are going to use power to have a basketball game in OKC.\u00a0 In a big arena, with NO fans????\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0NOOOO!!!!<\/p>\n<p>People in charge need to Stop and perform this simple exercise.\u00a0 Stand with hands out-stretched above your head.\u00a0 Take your left hand and reach over and grab your right ear.\u00a0 Now, take your right hand and grab your left ear.\u00a0 Now, with both hands, PULL your head out of your own ass!<\/p>\n<p>Zero fossil fuels?\u00a0 \u00a0 Dumb asses!<\/p>\n<p>Last summer, a dude in Shattuck hit me up about putting up small square bales of alfalfa.\u00a0 Sure.\u00a0 I&#8217;m in.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t use a whole pile of alfalfa but I would take 50 bales.\u00a0 He texted when he was baling.\u00a0 We went to get it out of the field.\u00a0 I looked at it and then called him.\u00a0 &#8220;Hey Don.\u00a0 Is it okay if I take 100 bales instead of 50?&#8221;\u00a0 This was some primo stuff.<\/p>\n<p>Also last summer, our neighbor, the legendary Johnny File, had some wicked looking wheat straw left standing in a field.\u00a0 It had been cut with a stripper header and the straw was clean.\u00a0 I called and asked him if I could put up straw bales.\u00a0 He said get after it.\u00a0 I called other neighbors and we put up 400 bales.\u00a0 I kept 130 bales.\u00a0 My mistake?\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t put up a 1,000.\u00a0 It was dang good straw.\u00a0 And another neighbor baled it up with a twine tie baler.\u00a0 Oh, these bales &#8220;pop&#8221; when you cut the twine.\u00a0 And no dust.<\/p>\n<p>Now, during this butt-ass cold 2 week long blast, I have fed more alfalfa small square bales than I ever planned and several of us have used those straw bales to bed goats, pigs, sheep, cattle, dogs, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Both deals were common sense.\u00a0 That&#8217;s it.\u00a0 Not some super intelligence, just common sense.\u00a0 The opportunity to do right presented itself.\u00a0 That&#8217;s it.\u00a0 And of course, the Dragon Lady is now asking me why I didn&#8217;t buy more alfalfa or bale up more straw.\u00a0 I cannot argue with her as she has been great help.\u00a0 Yet, we&#8217;ve still got plenty.\u00a0 Unless we get another couple weeks of this crap.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Stay warm!\u00a0 Keep the stock warm, watered and fed.\u00a0 We are another day closer to it warming up.<\/p>\n<p>Rolling blackouts&#8211;my ass!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rolling blackout?!?!\u00a0 \u00a0Seriously????\u00a0 \u00a0Who makes these terms up?
