{"id":4096,"date":"2021-01-23T06:03:02","date_gmt":"2021-01-23T06:03:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=4096"},"modified":"2021-01-23T06:03:16","modified_gmt":"2021-01-23T06:03:16","slug":"tv-theme-songs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/tv-theme-songs\/","title":{"rendered":"TV Theme songs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m often asked what makes me decide to write a blog about a given deal. \u00a0Well, it&#8217;s random. \u00a0Wicked random.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight, I was replying to several texts on either coast about possible judges. \u00a0I really wanted to go west to judge but cannot make the schedule work. \u00a0I love to judge a show or 3 but when there is schedule conflicts, you have to make decisions. \u00a0Is my ego of judging a show bigger than me staying at home to take care of student&#8217;s projects and goals? \u00a0I couldn&#8217;t make it work this year. \u00a0At some point, I am going to have to clear space for me to do these or I won&#8217;t get asked again. \u00a0Which would seem appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>I am probably more in-tune with all 5 species&#8211;goats, cattle, hogs, sheep and chickens&#8211;than any of you reading this. \u00a0AND\u2026..and\u2026.I have ZERO -spelled with an F&#8211; political affiliations. \u00a0Mentally, I am in a real good place.<\/p>\n<p>However, one of the dudes that I recommended to judge, had recently sent a text clip that involved a wicked cool tv tune. \u00a0That got my wheels to spinning.<\/p>\n<p>What is the greatest tv theme song? \u00a0Before I start this list, I will quickly declare that the shows from the 60&#8217;s, \u00a070&#8217;s &amp; 80&#8217;s were WAY better than the current crap.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s get a few timeless deals out of the way. \u00a0First off&#8211;check out Henry Mancini&#8217;s list of cool tunes. \u00a0The Hatari movie theme&#8211;cool deal!<\/p>\n<p>Hawaii Five-O, Peter Gunn &amp; Mission Impossible&#8211;timeless instrumentals. \u00a0Rawhide is another classic.<\/p>\n<p>Gilligan&#8217;s Island &amp; the Beverly Hillbillies are timeless, well to those of us who grew up watching those shows or grew up watching the re-runs. \u00a0The current generations are oblivious to them.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of timeless, the theme song to Jeopardy will always fit a countdown. I won&#8217;t argue if you say that this is the #1.<\/p>\n<p>What about the original Batman tv show?<\/p>\n<p>The Addams Family theme?<\/p>\n<p>How about the Flintstones?<\/p>\n<p>The Brady Bunch? \u00a0Here&#8217;s a story\u2026.yeah, you old people know it. \u00a0(You probably just sang it with the words that I typed. \u00a0 \u00a0Haaaa!! Now, you did it just to see if it worked.) \u00a0Now, I&#8217;m scared&#8211;you can actually sing anything to that tune.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, I know. \u00a0You need some time as you reminiscine each of those.<\/p>\n<p>Breather.<\/p>\n<p>Now, it&#8217;s time to get serious.<\/p>\n<p>WKRP is one that puts me in a good mood when I hear it.<\/p>\n<p>Friends&#8211;okay&#8211;cool song that fit the show. \u00a0Not good enough to win this class.<\/p>\n<p>Late at night\/really early mornings, when I am flipping channels and I hear that 70&#8217;s bass line\u2026.dooonh, duh, duh, doonh\u2026..and I know that sound means, \u00a0an episode of Barney Miller is getting ready to start.<\/p>\n<p>Laverne &amp; Shirley&#8211;&#8220;Doing it our way&#8221; yet it&#8217;s hard to forget the countdown before the song\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Time to get serious. \u00a0We&#8217;ve sifted a tough class, sorted the top end and now it is time to send 5 to the scales.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>5th&#8211;They are moving on up&#8211; The Jefferson&#8217;s. \u00a0Groundbreaking show that had a song to match up.<\/p>\n<p>4th&#8211;I love this one. \u00a0Of course, I am a fan of Dodge Chargers and Waylon Jennings. \u00a0The Dukes of Hazzard song helped make the show and has held up to the test of time.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the trinity of TV theme songs.<\/p>\n<p>3rd&#8211;it is an all-time great tv show with all time great music. \u00a0MASH. \u00a0I grew up listening to this tune and watching the show. \u00a0The final episode is one of the most watched shows of all-time. \u00a0Listen to the original lyrics of this song&#8211;it&#8217;s depressing.<\/p>\n<p>2nd&#8211;This ones hurts me. \u00a0I love this song. \u00a0I loved the show. \u00a0The theme song to Cheers brings so much to this class. \u00a0Great instrumentals, excellent lyrics and it ties so well to the show, the characters, all of it\u2026.it just worked. \u00a0Tammy and I have visited the Cheers location(s) in Boston. \u00a0Great, great show with great characters\u2026.even better song. \u00a0The lyrics still fit today. \u00a0&#8220;Your husband wants to be a girl.&#8221; \u00a0Yet, it is 2nd in this class of power.<\/p>\n<p>1st&#8212;Maybe not the best tv show, but so, so funny. \u00a0Yet, this song is so defining. \u00a0The tune from Sanford &amp; Sons. \u00a0ICONIC!! \u00a0showgoats.com needs to play this song for background music for my sales. \u00a0Cool, yet low rent. \u00a0You can hear it now!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Wait\u2026.wait\u2026.I&#8217;m not the best judging coach but I have always told kids that if you&#8217;re notes are over-loaded to one or the other&#8211;re-check your placing.<\/p>\n<p>We have to have a top pair switch. \u00a0Cheers beats Sanford and Son on paper, as well as the eye test. \u00a0Yes, I grant that the Sanford &amp; Sons ditty is wicked cool, but Cheers just invokes so many more emotions.<\/p>\n<p>There ain&#8217;t nothing wrong with that last second realization that I needed to make a top-pair switch and pick up that 2 point cut. \u00a0Every point counts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m often asked what makes me decide to write a blog about a given deal. \u00a0Well, it&#8217;s random. \u00a0Wicked random.
