{"id":3896,"date":"2020-10-15T01:40:10","date_gmt":"2020-10-15T01:40:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=3896"},"modified":"2020-10-15T02:14:47","modified_gmt":"2020-10-15T02:14:47","slug":"wasnt-prepared-for-that","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wasnt-prepared-for-that\/","title":{"rendered":"Wasn&#8217;t prepared for that"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are some things in life for which one canNOT be properly prepared.<\/p>\n<p>For instance. \u00a0Today was Homecoming Games Day at Shattuck Public Schools. \u00a0Not the football game, but gameS. \u00a0Tug of war, egg toss, etc. \u00a0Every teacher, every kid, preK through Senior is at these games. \u00a0The grade school kids are paired up with an upper-class for which they cheer. \u00a0For example, \u00a0the seniors wear red t-shirts to play in the games &amp; the 6th graders wears red t-shirts and cheer for the seniors. \u00a0The juniors wear blue &amp; the 5th grade wears blue and cheers for the juniors. \u00a0So on and so forth. \u00a0It is a great event that probably only works in a small town. \u00a0But work it does.<\/p>\n<p>When the games end about noon, the entire school eats pizza. \u00a0It has always been Pizza Hut pizza from the Shattuck Pizza Hut. \u00a0But, the Shattuck Pizza Hut closed back in March due to the hits from covid and has yet to re-open. \u00a0SOOO\u2026in order to get enough pizzas, somebody was going to have to go out of town.<\/p>\n<p>I volunteered. \u00a0One, I wouldn&#8217;t have to referee games or baby-sit the ineligible kids. \u00a0Two, I could drive to Woodward and pick up a butt-load of pizzas. \u00a0(remind me again&#8212;which is more? \u00a0A butt-load or a crap-load. \u00a0A crap-load sounds bigger but technically a butt-load should hold a crap-load.) \u00a0I digress. \u00a0Needless to say, but I was the only person that volunteered to go to Woodward and pick up a pile of pizzas. \u00a0So I got the job.<\/p>\n<p>I was there on time, they weren&#8217;t quite done cooking all of the pizzas but we went to loading. \u00a0I had that suburban full. \u00a0I asked them if they had cooked more pizzas for a single order. \u00a0Once, they allowed. \u00a0Ironically&#8211; for a prison.<\/p>\n<p>All of the napkins, plates, pepper, parmesan and pizzas were loaded. \u00a0I climbed into the driver&#8217;s side of this suburban sled on wheels and began my journey west towards Shattuck.<\/p>\n<p>Prepared for this journey, I was not. \u00a0Until one has undertaken this mission&#8212;-you have no idea. \u00a0I have never wondered how hot the insides of those pizza warmer sleeve deals are that delivery drivers use. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t have any of those sleeves. \u00a0I simply had a 101, yes, a HUNDRED AND ONE large pizzas, individually boxed and piled into a suburban, with me driving this sled westward to feed a pile of school kids.<\/p>\n<p>People, you cannot believe how hot a suburban is that contains a 101 freshly cooked pizza pies. \u00a0I couldn&#8217;t use the rear view mirror because of the heat radiating from the back. \u00a0And the AC was higher than Nikki Sixx on a late 80&#8217;s smack fix! \u00a0Basically, that white chevy suburban had become a rolling pizza sleeve that contained 101 large pizzas AND one sweating driver. \u00a0I wasn&#8217;t prepared for that.<\/p>\n<p>On a further note, there is something about Pizza Hut pizza grease that is kind of addictive. \u00a0But it can also cause other issues. \u00a0I doubt there was enough toilet paper or plungers in Shattuck Public Schools on this fine afternoon. \u00a0And after sweating while driving an ass-load of pizzas, I may have smelled worse than a classroom full of 8th grade boys. \u00a0Horrible! \u00a0Sweat and pizza grease! \u00a0 I wasn&#8217;t prepared for that.<\/p>\n<p>Have a good one today and a great tomorrow. \u00a0I hope I see you at the Royal this week. \u00a0I wish you all horseshoes &amp; shamrocks.<\/p>\n<p>And no, I really wasn&#8217;t hungry for pizza after that trip.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are some things in life for which one canNOT be properly prepared.
