By faith and by upbringing, my religion of choice is Catholic. \u00a0I only lack a few months on this planet until I have been here 5 decades. \u00a0And in those dang neart 50 years, I have not seen anything to change my mind. \u00a0I truly do not care if you approve or disapprove. \u00a0My parents raised three boys to love and serve others as well as GOD. \u00a0They did something right, as all three of us have made life choices that did not involve making more money. \u00a0As a result, between the three of us, no divorces and six bad-ass grandkids.<\/p>\n
Am I judgmental on somebody having a divorce? \u00a0No. \u00a0My favorite brother-in-law is proof of that. \u00a0Todd and Tammy are half siblings. \u00a0But one only needs to be around them a short time to realize that they are brother and sister. \u00a0I credit their mom for that. \u00a0Tammy’s step-father\u2026..She calls him dad and our kids call him GrandDad\u2026is as good of a person that I have been around. \u00a0I will never judge a family unit. \u00a0If it works, it works and that is better than most have. \u00a0One can be rich without having a pile of cash. \u00a0(We are filthy rich with when it comes to having great role models in our lives and more importantly, our kids’ lives)<\/p>\n
Having said all that, I do NOT care what religion you are, as long as you don’t tell me what to believe. \u00a0I can respect a difference of opinion. \u00a0There does not need to be a fight over that difference. \u00a0The Dragon Lady enjoys attending Baptist services. \u00a0My kids both know that there is a GOD. \u00a0That last sentence is all that matters to me.<\/p>\n
HOWEVER, my true religion has nothing to do with a brick and mortar church or words printed on a paper. \u00a0MY RELIGION is solely based on experience. \u00a0I’m talking about those experiences that hit hard and leave a non-visible mark. \u00a0But that mark lasts forever.<\/p>\n
I know that there is scripture about attending an organized religious ceremony such as service, mass, whatever. \u00a0My soul has never felt more alive than being in the outdoors. \u00a0Mostly, by myself. \u00a0This has been the case for almost 50 years.<\/p>\n
Seeing a newborn Hereford or Shorthorn marked calf always stirs my soul. \u00a0Especially when they are running to their momma with that tail straight up.<\/p>\n
Assisting a doe kid giving birth and realizing that a life was saved. \u00a0Three days later–watching baby goats run and play. \u00a0Hell, they make videos of baby goats. \u00a0(Don’t remember seeing cool videos of doe goats)<\/p>\n
One of the many things that absolutely stirs my soul to the core is that moment\u2026.that moment…when that kid\u2026.when it all clicks, and THAT kid\u2026..gets it! \u00a0 I don’t care if you are talking about public speaking, showmanship, running a wicked bead\u2026..THAT moment! \u00a0That moment when it becomes personal. \u00a0They own it! \u00a0And every goal now becomes attainable. \u00a0Those goals did not have to include banners or trophies.<\/p>\n
