{"id":3689,"date":"2020-07-28T13:08:16","date_gmt":"2020-07-28T13:08:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=3689"},"modified":"2020-07-28T13:08:28","modified_gmt":"2020-07-28T13:08:28","slug":"trip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/trip\/","title":{"rendered":"Trip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is past the normal time of year for FFA Alumni Camp. \u00a0However, some of the state staff worked hard to come up with a streamlined, covid free, version of camp for 2020. \u00a0Early Sunday morning, Tammy and I loaded up 11 Shattuck FFA members and trekked to the eastern part of the state. \u00a0We got everybody&#8217;s temps checked, health forms checked and then dropped kids off at camp. \u00a0The 2020 version of camp started at 12 noon and ended at 5 pm the following day. \u00a0Normally, it would be 4 days\/3 nights.<\/p>\n<p>All of our kids were pleased with camp. \u00a0The seniors-to-be that have been numerous times said that it was good. \u00a0The first -timers said, &#8220;If it was this good during covid, they can&#8217;t wait to go back next year.&#8221; \u00a0Good job.<\/p>\n<p>And since we were in the area, we then drove north to look through some goats. \u00a0It wasn&#8217;t that hot but oh, the humidity. \u00a0We grabbed a room in Tulsa on Sunday night and then went to Skiatook Lake on Monday morning. \u00a0 We hired a guide to take us fishing. \u00a0We caught a lot of hybrid stripers and a mess of blue cats. \u00a0We hadn&#8217;t caught many hybrids before. \u00a0Man, a five pound hybrid has a lot of fight in them. \u00a0They are fun to catch. \u00a0We didn&#8217;t catch any monsters but we consistently caught fish and had fun.<\/p>\n<p>I have been asked before, why do you hire guides? \u00a0Why don&#8217;t you own a boat?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a couple of reasons why I hire a guide?<\/p>\n<p>1&#8211;I don&#8217;t have to own a boat.<\/p>\n<p>2&#8211;I don&#8217;t have to fix a boat.<\/p>\n<p>3&#8211;I don&#8217;t have to put gas in a boat.<\/p>\n<p>4&#8211;I don&#8217;t have to store a boat.<\/p>\n<p>5&#8211;I don&#8217;t have to pay insurance on a boat.<\/p>\n<p>6&#8211;I don&#8217;t have to winterize a boat.<\/p>\n<p>7&#8211;I don&#8217;t have to clean up a boat and get it ready in the spring.<\/p>\n<p>8&#8211;I don&#8217;t have to load a boat on and off of a trailer.<\/p>\n<p>9&#8211;With a guide, I don&#8217;t have to catch bait.<\/p>\n<p>10&#8211;I don&#8217;t have to keep poles ready for all people on the boat.<\/p>\n<p>11&#8211;I don&#8217;t have to clean fish.<\/p>\n<p>12&#8211;I don&#8217;t have to waste time trying to find fish.<\/p>\n<p>13&#8211;I have fun going fishing without owning a boat and without having to work to catch fish.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And when we left Camp Tulakogee, it was raining hard and the rain was stretched all across the state. \u00a0Parents were sending their kids videos of a 2&#8243; downpour in Gage (7 miles from my house). \u00a0I drove in rain on and off all the way home. \u00a0And then we got back here to paradise. \u00a0Yep, we got rain&#8211;.25. \u00a0A quarter inch. \u00a0We&#8217;ll take it but\u2026.dude?!?!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is past the normal time of year for FFA Alumni Camp. \u00a0However, some of the state staff worked hard to come up with a streamlined, covid free, version of camp for 2020. \u00a0Early Sunday morning, Tammy and I loaded up 11 Shattuck FFA members and trekked to the eastern [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3689"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=3689"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3689\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":3690,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3689\/revisions\/3690"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3689"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=3689"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=3689"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
