Some groups\/performers do a better job of utilizing a video to promote the song. \u00a0Some use sexuality to really make it all come together. \u00a0Some videos accentuate the power of the song.<\/p>\n

Visual Effects<\/strong><\/p>\n –Enter Sandman by Metallica \u00a0 \u00a0 You watch that video and realize that they actually re-created nightmares and timed it perfectly to a great tune.<\/p>\n –Money for Nothing by Dire Straits \u00a0 \u00a0 Animated video that is cheesy now, but was so far ahead of it’s time that it is still cool.<\/p>\n –Thriller by Michael Jackson \u00a0 \u00a0 This one has won most shows on it’s way to the G.O.A.T. show. \u00a0Great story, great cinematography, not his best song.<\/p>\n –Smells like “Nirvana” by Weird Al Yankovic \u00a0 \u00a0 The GOAT parody song\/video of all time. \u00a0I can watch this video and hear Nirvana but I laugh at the visuals–marbles, etc.<\/p>\n –Hey Ya by Outkast \u00a0 \u00a0 I feel like I am watching a studio concert with this one. \u00a0Upbeat and very suggestive. \u00a0Rap? \u00a0Pop? \u00a0IDK. \u00a0I just like this video and the song.<\/p>\n –Sabotage by Beastie Boys \u00a0 \u00a0Great acting, action and making a visual for a song that you didn’t expect.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Monkey Wrench\u00a0<\/strong>(because they make your nuts tighten up)<\/p>\n –Cherry Pie by Warrant \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0She was so hot, the lead singer married her. \u00a0This video\u2026.oh the innuendos.<\/p>\n \u2026Baby one more time by Britney Spears \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0This one made all of us wonder if it was quite right?! \u00a0 \u00a0But you couldn’t look away and this video has held up. \u00a0They still use this one as a litmus test.<\/p>\n –Turn Back Time by Cher \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The opposite of Britney (was she old enough) versus Cher (Is she too old to wear that?) \u00a0 great song and the video has held up to the test of time.<\/p>\n –Any Man of Mine by Shania Twain \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Launched a career. \u00a0Wasn’t risqu\u00e9 but I’m not the only one that VIVIDLY remembers watching this video.<\/p>\n –All I Want for Christmas by Mariah Carey \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0This video makes it cool to listen to this song in July.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Inspirational<\/strong><\/p>\n –We didn’t light the fire by Billy Joel \u00a0 \u00a0The video is cool. \u00a0The song is better.<\/p>\n –Right Now by Van Halen \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0I’m a fan of this song and this video. \u00a0The video is ever-evolving and can be made to fit any time or social happening.<\/p>\n –The Dance by Garth Brooks \u00a0 \u00a0This video stopped me in my tracks back in the day. \u00a0Simple, yet powerful. \u00a0He made lots of other great stuff but this is still his best video.<\/p>\n –Hurt by Johnny Cash<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Fits all categories<\/strong><\/p>\n –Here I Go Again by Whitesnake \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 This one has been mentioned in movies. \u00a0It still inspires me to want to be a rock star OR a jaguar car. \u00a0The visuals were\/still are stunning and therefore, the monkey wrench applies.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Division champs<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Here I Go Again \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Even Ricky Bobby referenced this one in Talladega Nights. \u00a0“What’s her name?”<\/p>\n Smells Like Nirvana \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The parody is better than the original which just happens to be an all-time great.<\/p>\n Any Man of Mine \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Clean, fits the song perfectly but still evokes so many positive images of\u2026 yeah.<\/p>\n Hurt \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The visuals, the past, the present, the unexpected.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Top 5 overall<\/p>\n 5th overall– \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Here I go Again \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0This video\u2026simple yet so, so well made.<\/p>\n 4th overall– \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Any Man of Mine \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Great song combined with absolute sexy yet clean visuals. \u00a0OOhh!<\/p>\n 3rd overall– \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The Dance \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Simple yet profound. \u00a0Helped launch a HUGE career.<\/p>\n Res. grand– \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Right Now \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The video and the song were out of the norm for this band. \u00a0But it<\/p>\n worked and still works.<\/p>\n Grand– \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Hurt \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Not the best song, nor the best video subjects\u2026but the<\/p>\n combination makes it the best ever.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I will gladly accept texts\/emails\/calls regarding your opinions. \u00a0Did I forget one?
