{"id":3658,"date":"2020-07-13T12:47:54","date_gmt":"2020-07-13T12:47:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=3658"},"modified":"2020-07-13T12:48:07","modified_gmt":"2020-07-13T12:48:07","slug":"water-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/water-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Water"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We hadn&#8217;t been seeing much water in these parts. \u00a0We have seen and smelled rain but haven&#8217;t actually got any of it for a couple of months. \u00a0The lack of rain combined with the 105+ temps for the past week has made it kind of brutal around here. \u00a0Don&#8217;t know if any of the crops that I planted will make hay or not?<\/p>\n<p>Last night, we finally got a bit of water. \u00a0Three tenths and a whole bunch of wind. \u00a0So, I spent this morning cleaning out all of the feeder pans that had soaked feed in them. \u00a0We needed more but we will take it.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of water, Tammy recently bought one of those blue, air up kind of backyard pools. \u00a0It has its own pump and system to circulate water. \u00a0It is probably 8&#8242; in diameter and about 30&#8243; deep. \u00a0I made fun of her when she first set it up. \u00a0But, now that it has gotten hot, you can find me soaking in that pool during the extreme heat.<\/p>\n<p>We had a blast on the 4th of July. \u00a0We traveled to Waynoka to a lake that is not found on any maps. \u00a0I call it Lake Litzenberger. \u00a0The Litzenberger family has been digging this lake for years. \u00a0It started, and still is a shale pit. \u00a0This shale gets dug out and used for county roads, well locations, etc. \u00a0This lake is deep&#8211;30&#8242;. \u00a0It is big enough that there was a pontoon boat and 4 wave runners pulling skiers. \u00a0I don&#8217;t know how many acres it covers&#8211;20 some, nearing 30. \u00a0No matter, it will continue to grow. \u00a0And the water in this lake is dang neart perfect. \u00a0Clear, calm and refreshing.<\/p>\n<p>They have built a pavilion for serving food and finding shade. \u00a0They built a 20&#8242; tall sand pile, then put plastic on it in order to build a slide. \u00a0A trash pump provides the water so that you can haul ass down this slide. \u00a0They also parked a sky track next to the water. \u00a0This serves as the high dive. \u00a0Climb on the pallet, get lifted about 15 feet in the air and then jump off.<\/p>\n<p>For the 4th, there was about 120 people at Lake Litzenberger. \u00a0Lots of adults, teenagers and little kids. \u00a0Everybody signed a waiver. \u00a0The entire crew was constantly watching out for the little kids. \u00a0Lots of life jackets. \u00a0KC Ferguson had his pontoon boat there and that thing ran all day and into the night. \u00a0That boat even pulled me on skis. \u00a0It had been over a decade since I had water skied. \u00a0I actually got up on the first try. \u00a0And yes, I was really sore for several days.<\/p>\n<p>And then there was the fireworks show. \u00a0The first explosion was a Winnebago that had some tannerite and other ingredients in it. \u00a0One shot and then an explosion. \u00a0This was fitting.<\/p>\n<p>Basically, this whole day was a redneck holiday. \u00a0As Poe pointed out, &#8220;not many democrats in this crowd.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We hadn&#8217;t been seeing much water in these parts. \u00a0We have seen and smelled rain but haven&#8217;t actually got any of it for a couple of months. \u00a0The lack of rain combined with the 105+ temps for the past week has made it kind of brutal around here. \u00a0Don&#8217;t know [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3658"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=3658"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3658\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":3659,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3658\/revisions\/3659"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3658"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=3658"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=3658"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
