We hauled kids to COLT conference this week. \u00a0C<\/strong>hapter O<\/strong>fficer L<\/strong>eadership T<\/strong>raining was held in Enid, OK on the 24th. \u00a0Officers are in official dress and the advisors need to be dressed up as well. \u00a0Coat, tie, slacks and my favorite smooth-quill ostrich dress boots for my part. \u00a0Pics have to be taken. \u00a0I have always let the kids choose where we eat for lunch.<\/p>\n

I have always felt like we are dressed to the hilt, so let’s go eat something good. \u00a0This year, the kids chose Freddy’s. \u00a0As in a fast food Freddy’s burgers. \u00a0I like Freddy’s, especially their jalape\u00f1o fry sauce. \u00a0They are good but dang dudes. \u00a0Not what I had in mind. \u00a0The kids chose, so there we go.<\/p>\n

While standing in line to order a burger, I looked at the guy running the register. \u00a0He was wearing safety glasses. \u00a0I mean like ANSI Z 87+ quality safety glasses. \u00a0And..what in the hell\u2026he has a pair of black eyes. \u00a0So, of course, I am studying this deal. \u00a0The black eyes don’t look like somebody got their ass-whipped black eyes. \u00a0He kind of acts a bit off\u2026I don’t know\u2026maybe I shouldn’t ask him about the glasses or the black eyes. \u00a0He kind of has the look of someone that walked into a closed door. \u00a0IDK. \u00a0Against my better judgement, I decide not to bring it up.<\/p>\n

I go to pay for Mrs. Abbey and I’s meal and he says, “Wait. \u00a0Don’t put the card in yet, I need to include your discount.”<\/p>\n

Alright, alright, alright. \u00a0I wait, he tells me to insert card, I follow instructions. \u00a0I pay. \u00a0Get the receipt and our order #. \u00a0I sit down at a table and I wonder–hunh? How much is the discount? \u00a0So I look at the receipt.<\/p>\n

WTF? \u00a0RUSM? \u00a0 This can’t be right. \u00a0I could have kept all of this to myself. \u00a0But NOOO!! I showed Mrs. Abbey. \u00a0I asked, “Do you see anything off about this receipt?”<\/p>\n

She looks at it, studies it and then says, “I guess you ordered a burger with pickles, mustard and NO onions.”<\/p>\n

JEEZZZ!?!? \u00a0 No! \u00a0 She then looks at it and “Oh, \u00a0“HHAAAAAAAAA!!!! \u00a0This is awesome!”<\/p>\n

At this juncture in time, I see the Aline-Cleo ag teacher checking his receipt for his customer #. \u00a0So, I ask, “What kind of discount did you get?” \u00a0 He studied his paper and replied, “I didn’t get any discount.” \u00a0 SON OF \u00a0A female dog!!<\/p>\n

I really don’t have an issue with getting a SENIOR CITIZEN discount. \u00a0$2.28 were saved. \u00a0 However, here are my problems.<\/p>\n

1–I should have asked the clown about his black eyes and the safety glasses. \u00a0I could have gotten $2.28 worth of a story out of this deal. \u00a0I decided to be nice and it didn’t work out.<\/p>\n

2–I like and respect Mr. Randy Pullan. \u00a0One of the all-time great livestock guys. \u00a0I could write a blog about the Pullan family. \u00a0(might have to one of these days) \u00a0But he is in his upper fifties. \u00a0I’m not. \u00a0Just saying that he is older than me and looks older than me.<\/p>\n

3–The school was paying for this meal. \u00a0So, I did not actually save $2.28 from this deal. \u00a0I got kicked in the nuts and the school saved $2.28.<\/p>\n

4–I have a feeling that those two black eyes and the safety glasses were a result of somebody else getting a senior citizens discount that really didn’t want one.<\/p>\n

In all actuality, I was not offended by the discount. \u00a0Mrs. Abbey has gotten $200 and 28 dollars worth out of this story. \u00a0The kids loved the story.<\/p>\n

All in the day\u2026.I hope all of you have a great one and a better tomorrow. \u00a0Here’s to nothing but horseshoes and shamrocks for most of you and a pile of quasi-offensive discounts for the rest of you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
