{"id":3108,"date":"2019-09-13T01:58:11","date_gmt":"2019-09-13T01:58:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=3108"},"modified":"2019-09-13T02:03:12","modified_gmt":"2019-09-13T02:03:12","slug":"not-cool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/not-cool\/","title":{"rendered":"Not Cool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had lots of cool, new stuff to write about today. \u00a0But, this post is not cool. \u00a0I hauled projects to the State Fair of Oklahoma on Wednesday. \u00a0On this Thursday morning, I left Shattuck early with a couple suburbans full of 8th &amp; 10th grade livestock judgers. \u00a0While driving back to OKC, I started getting texts. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t read them till I stopped. \u00a0I did not like what I was seeing. \u00a0Jordan Fledderjohan had been killed in a car wreck. \u00a0DANG!!! \u00a0Not the kind of news that I like.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t have a bunch of buddy stories. \u00a0I just always looked forward to talking to Jordan and his dad, Clark. \u00a0Jordan was always brash, loud, very confident, wanting to win a goat show, pissed when he didn&#8217;t win, passionate about raising and showing good stock, always willing to help a kid improve their showmanship and feeding programs. \u00a0 On a side note, he was always looking for the next cold one. \u00a0Kind of reminds me of someone else. \u00a0Probably why we always got along.<\/p>\n<p>I enjoyed talking genetics and judges with him. \u00a0Of course, you probably didn&#8217;t want children in our presence when the two of us were cussing and discussing. \u00a0The American Royal of 2015 found Jordan&#8217;s crew and my crew stalled next to each other. \u00a0There was a complete dead day of NO activities. \u00a0So, we talked goats and cussed goats and one thing led to another. \u00a0Some of you will remember that somebody dared me to ride my little dolly cart down the ramp from the upper level to the bottom. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t want to do it, but the challenge had been put forth. \u00a0I rode that damn thing and held up my end. \u00a0I held on to the cart with both hands. \u00a0People were cheering and laughing. \u00a0I drug that thing back to the top and rolled it at him. \u00a0He held up his end. \u00a0He didn&#8217;t ride it. \u00a0He OWNED it! \u00a0He rode it one handed while the other hand held an open cold bottle of beverage. \u00a0We all cheered and laughed. \u00a0The next day, one of his girls showed the grand overall wether and one of our girls showed the reserve grand overall wether. \u00a0We both agreed that we would gladly ride a cart down a ramp in order to gather a banner or two.<\/p>\n<p>Prayers to his parents, family and friends. \u00a0The industry lost a truly passionate goater that could raise em, feed em and show em. \u00a0I was looking forward to the possibility of Jordan judging major shows in upcoming years. \u00a0I think that would have been interesting. \u00a0Oh well. \u00a0His legacy in the goat industry will continue for years to come. \u00a0Cheers!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had lots of cool, new stuff to write about today. \u00a0But, this post is not cool. \u00a0I hauled projects to the State Fair of Oklahoma on Wednesday. \u00a0On this Thursday morning, I left Shattuck early with a couple suburbans full of 8th &amp; 10th grade livestock judgers. \u00a0While driving [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3108"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=3108"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3108\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":3111,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3108\/revisions\/3111"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3108"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=3108"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=3108"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
