{"id":3053,"date":"2019-08-08T02:07:39","date_gmt":"2019-08-08T02:07:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=3053"},"modified":"2019-08-08T02:10:42","modified_gmt":"2019-08-08T02:10:42","slug":"1988-movie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/1988-movie\/","title":{"rendered":"1988 Movie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tomorrow is the first day of school at Shattuck America! \u00a0I&#8217;m actually ready for it to get rolling.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight, I finished chores and plopped down to the tv. \u00a0I flipped through the channels until I landed on the IFC channel, just in time for the start of the 1988 classic movie &#8220;Coming to America&#8221;. \u00a0After watching several minutes, I quickly realized this was the un-edited version. \u00a0Just like the movie that I first watched on VHS back in 1988. \u00a0I was taken back in time as I sat there, laughing at Eddie Murphy and others.<\/p>\n<p>The comedy in this movie is classic. \u00a0The barbershop discussions are off the hook. \u00a0Eddie Murphy was on his A game. \u00a0The storyline is great. \u00a0I don&#8217;t mean to sound racist at all, but this has to be one of the greatest collections of beautiful black women in one movie&#8211;ever! \u00a0Thirty years later and it&#8217;s still like, dang! \u00a0 (How is that racist to think\/say &#8220;Dang that is a bunch of beautiful women.. that happen to be black.) \u00a0Is that white guilt? \u00a0 Not here. \u00a0Not then and not now. \u00a0I would call that a compliment. \u00a0And James Earl Jones played the king. \u00a0You don&#8217;t get much cooler than James Earl Jones. \u00a0That voice&#8211;and it fits his appearance. \u00a0He looks and sounds like, well, a king, the elder Simba, Darth Vader&#8212;awesome. \u00a0If you haven&#8217;t seen this flick, I feel for you.<\/p>\n<p>Now, how does this movie tie to the goat world. \u00a0We will get to that.<\/p>\n<p>This movie is unique in the fact that Eddie Murphy plays numerous characters and was one of the writers. \u00a0I think he plays at least 4 different roles. \u00a0Arsenio Hall also plays at least 4 different roles.<\/p>\n<p>Most of my career in the goat industry has felt like I was Eddie Murphy in this movie. \u00a0I was writing the script and playing the parts. \u00a0A lot of the time, this script has felt like a comedy. \u00a0Other times was drama, Hallmark moments and at times, it has been a horror flick.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve had to play the starring role. \u00a0Even though I&#8217;m probably better in a supporting role. \u00a0I&#8217;ve also played the role of free veterinarian. \u00a0In 2003, and hell, even now in 2019, there just aren&#8217;t many vets that are up to speed on goats in this part of paradise. \u00a0I&#8217;ve dang sure not always been right but I was free. \u00a0I&#8217;ve played the role of marketing specialist and head of sales; for myself, as well as others. \u00a0I&#8217;ve also played the roles of teacher, coach, jock, fitter, nutrition specialist, historian, antagonist and the checkbook.<\/p>\n<p>And now, some may wonder if I&#8217;m like Eddie Murphy&#8211;are my best years behind me? \u00a0I know that I am better than Arsenio. \u00a0He&#8217;s been done for years.<\/p>\n<p>I know I still get enjoyment from some things goat. \u00a0I know\u2026..well, hell. \u00a0I know a lot but I&#8217;m still watching this movie.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The goat world tie from Coming to America&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>What did Akeem say was the family business? \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Now, keep in mind that he was trying to play a poor person. AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!&#8212;you would be correct if you said, &#8220;Goat herding.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Fitting.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Just tell me that you didn&#8217;t love me when you thought that I was a goat herder and I will renounce my throne.&#8221; \u00a0 This is an actual line from the movie, not just some BS that I have used to romance the Dragon Lady.<\/p>\n<p>People, have a great tomorrow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tomorrow is the first day of school at Shattuck America! \u00a0I&#8217;m actually ready for it to get rolling.
