{"id":2745,"date":"2019-02-04T02:21:47","date_gmt":"2019-02-04T02:21:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=2745"},"modified":"2019-02-04T03:09:44","modified_gmt":"2019-02-04T03:09:44","slug":"busy-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/busy-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Busy?!?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yes. \u00a0Without a doubt, \u00a0the most common question that I get is : &#8220;How much longer are you teaching?&#8221; \u00a0I can honestly answer&#8211;at least until May. \u00a0After that, I do not know. \u00a0There are parts of me that feel like going the distance. \u00a0But, there are also parts that are itching. \u00a0I planned on a year, did a 2nd one, had to do a 3rd year and now finishing 5. \u00a0IDK and don&#8217;t have time to worry about it. \u00a0Busy.<\/p>\n<p>I like what we are doing. \u00a0But parts of the job can WEAR you out. \u00a0Stock shows being the number ONE factor that can burn an ag ed instructor. \u00a0I say this, yet, I kind of know what I am doing with stock shows. \u00a0I have a family that understands stock shows. \u00a0Heck, for that matter, stock shows are what made me want to be an ag teacher.<\/p>\n<p>Until you have done this job, you have NO idea! \u00a0If you are griping about your ag teacher, DON&#8217;T. \u00a0Analyze, if \u00a0you like them, \u00a0on everything they do EXCEPT stock shows. \u00a0If stock shows are their weakness, well, then walk away and go pay a jock to do what you are wanting. \u00a0Let the ag teacher teach and provide a positive experience for your kid(s). \u00a0Pay the jock to do whatever it is that you need\/want. \u00a0I understand all aspects, probably better than anybody else in the game. \u00a0I have done both at a high level. \u00a0Except, the getting paid part. \u00a0My fault and I am at peace with decisions that Tammy and I made years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of stock shows, I did haul some middle school age boys to a doe show this weekend. \u00a0They placed well. \u00a0But the trash talking from a pair of brothers was legendary. \u00a0I love driving an ag pickup with kids just being themselves. \u00a0Big fun!<\/p>\n<p>If you are showing goats right now, you need to spray for fleas. \u00a0They get them. \u00a0It happens. \u00a0And this is the time to spray, comb it in and then do it again later this week. \u00a0There is that itch again.<\/p>\n<p>Weaned mini herfs. \u00a0Put big calves on creep feeder. \u00a0Spent Sunday afternoon looking at student&#8217;s projects. \u00a0Actually kind of pleased.<\/p>\n<p>I guess that there is a football game on tv. \u00a0The Dragon Lady cooked up some t-bones that I stumbled across this morning at the grocery store. \u00a0High choice, great color (actually porterhouse) for $7.29\/ lb. \u00a0We are lucky to have a wicked good grocery store. \u00a0The Venture foods crew keep good produce and have a bad ass meat market. \u00a0Did I mention that they are cooking for the Shattuck Ag Booster dinner on Tuesday night? \u00a0And they help me with anything that I need for class projects (The seniors like to cook\/eat). \u00a0I&#8217;ve got a story or two involving making wurst with this class.<\/p>\n<p>I think that I will hit publish and eat some steak, taters, beans and DANG, there is a reason that I am getting fatter. \u00a0She is putting the croissants in a ziploc bag. \u00a0She is full, I&#8217;m full and wait, what, RUSM, I did not know that it was possible\u2026.Duke is full!<\/p>\n<p>We ain&#8217;t rich but we are better off than 6 billion+ other people on this planet. \u00a0If you are reading this, then you are as well.<\/p>\n<p>Have a good one. \u00a0Make a donation. \u00a0Help a neighbor.
