{"id":2674,"date":"2018-12-21T01:29:05","date_gmt":"2018-12-21T01:29:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=2674"},"modified":"2018-12-21T01:30:26","modified_gmt":"2018-12-21T01:30:26","slug":"lead-singer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/lead-singer\/","title":{"rendered":"Lead Singer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Van Halen has always been a favorite band of mine. \u00a0I got to see Van Hagar live but not Van Halen. \u00a0I liked both versions. \u00a0I also liked the original lead singer when he was with Van Halen and some of his solo stuff after Van Halen. \u00a0One of his solo hits was a simple little ditty that just happened to be all acoustic. \u00a0It was a song called &#8220;Damn Good!&#8221; Some could argue that David Lee Roth was one of the best front men of all time. \u00a0I won&#8217;t say that he was the best, but I could argue it.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight, as I sit here sampling this years fresh delivery of chex mix, the term that comes to mind is &#8220;Damn Good!&#8221; \u00a0 One could even think &#8220;Best ever!&#8221; \u00a0 Brandon the Bruce makes a wicked mean chex mix. \u00a0I mean wicked good! \u00a0And this years version is unique. \u00a0I noticed something, new, different, yep, sure enough&#8212;that is a salad crouton in the mix. \u00a0Heck of a deal. \u00a0Different, but it works.<\/p>\n<p>Now back to that Van Halen concert. \u00a0It was uneventful. \u00a0Well behaved. \u00a0But, the best drum solo that I ever witnessed was Alex Van Halen. \u00a0The best guitar solo that I ever witnessed was Eddie Van Halen. \u00a0Oh, he also played the best keyboard solo that I have seen. \u00a0The best act as a solo by a lead singer was Sammy Hagar playing his own stuff plus some un-released Van Hagar tunes. \u00a0And then the absolute best bass guitar solo was played by Michael Anthony. \u00a0Other than Gene Simmons, what bass player ever gets a solo. \u00a0His solo (Michael Anthony not Han Solo) \u00a0led right into the opening bass line thumping of &#8220;Why can&#8217;t this be love?&#8221; \u00a0Dudes, back in 1986, that was the song that I waited for on the radio. \u00a0No, there was no cool tie to a hot chick. \u00a0I just dug that tune. \u00a0It was and still is damn good.<\/p>\n<p>It is that time of year when one just bundles up, puts the ear buds in, plays some tunes and goes about the chores of feeding stock and filling water tanks. \u00a0Dump some cake to the cows, put hay in feeders and plan on spending money knowing it will be several months until the next sale of stock. \u00a0Listening to a damn good tune and eating some damn good chex mix helps one cope.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Right now&#8221;, I&#8217;m going to &#8220;jump&#8221; from this keyboard, even though I wish that I was in &#8220;Panama&#8221;. \u00a0&#8220;I&#8217;ll wait&#8221; until I can have the &#8220;best of both worlds&#8221;. \u00a0And I think I&#8217;ll just stop because I am drawing blanks on how to tie &#8220;poundcake&#8221;, &#8220;hot for teacher&#8221; and &#8220;why can&#8217;t this be love&#8221; into\u2026.wait, maybe I just did.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dudes, have a good one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Van Halen has always been a favorite band of mine. \u00a0I got to see Van Hagar live but not Van Halen. \u00a0I liked both versions. \u00a0I also liked the original lead singer when he was with Van Halen and some of his solo stuff after Van Halen. \u00a0One of his [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2674"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=2674"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2674\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2675,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2674\/revisions\/2675"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2674"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=2674"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=2674"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
