I hope that all of you people had as good of a Thanksgiving Day as what I did. \u00a0I smoked 2 turkeys per request from the Kelln females. \u00a0I forgot to check my stash of spices and rubs. \u00a0I was out of what I usually use on turkey. So, I piled into the kitchen and made my own rub. \u00a0When, I thought that it was close, I had Duke taste it. \u00a0Official taste test.<\/p>\n
I can smoke a turkey. \u00a0I mean damn good turkey. \u00a0Moist, flavorful and bad donkey good. \u00a0Dude, I think that this might have been my best yet. \u00a0And to make it better, baby brother Daniel smoked a brisket and BURNT ENDS! \u00a0The brisket was good. \u00a0The burnt ends were wicked bastard good. \u00a0The ladies had the taters, stuffing, gravy, rolls, yams, green beans and all of the desserts ready. \u00a0OOOOOHHHHHWWWEEEE!!!! \u00a0The pants don’t fit right.<\/p>\n
All three brothers and all of the grandkids MINUS one. \u00a0That would be Kela. \u00a0But she did FaceTime for the prayer. \u00a0It was 2 Am where she was at. \u00a0Oh, where might that be? \u00a0Thailand. \u00a0Why? \u00a0Job related–NO.<\/p>\n
Me–“Why are you going to Thailand for some festival of lanterns?”<\/p>\n
Kela–“Because I’ve never been there.”<\/p>\n
Me–“Oh. \u00a0Makes sense. \u00a0I guess.”<\/p>\n
Yes, she took a vacation to Thailand. \u00a0We have video of her riding elephants. \u00a0WTF? \u00a0 She checks off countries like I check off states.<\/p>\n
Did we have any refugees this year for Thanksgiving dinner? \u00a0You bet. \u00a0It was awesome. \u00a0Of course, Uncle Jim was here. \u00a0And later in the day, Uncle Glen made it. \u00a0(He actually isn’t an uncle, but we all like him so, Uncle Glen it is.) \u00a0But we also had a special guest that lives in Hawaii. \u00a0One of my parents very best friends was back to the mainland dealing with some family issues in Mooreland, OK. \u00a0Harold Deever came to dinner. \u00a0I hadn’t seen him in years, but he fit right in. \u00a0Good people and good times. \u00a0I like it. \u00a0I love it. \u00a0I want some more of it.<\/p>\n
I dang neart forgot that Milligan was having a Black Friday semen sale. \u00a0A couple of calls this morning reminded me. \u00a0I like selling that stuff for a lot of dollars but I also don’t like all of the risk and expenses that come with it. \u00a0Thanks to all the buyers. \u00a0Be watching in the near future for some kind of dollar discount deals.<\/p>\n
Yes, that brings me back to the title. \u00a0Tacos. \u00a0I like tacos. \u00a0I ate a smoked turkey sandwich with my favorite sliced pickles and BBQ sauce on it for lunch. \u00a0This was a sandwich that I would pay $9.95 for. \u00a0But it was all here in my fridge. \u00a0So, it was kind of like FREE. \u00a0Tonight, I really wanted to go somewhere, BUT Frosty the Snowman was on the tube. \u00a0Yes, I watched it. \u00a0Then, I headed to the kitchen to get creative. \u00a0 Taco shells, shredded cheese, salsa, some beans and corn along with that turkey. \u00a0 DAMN!!!!! \u00a0 These turkey tacos will now forevermore be on the menu at Kelln’s little piece of paradise. \u00a0I’m sure that I ain’t the first to make turkey tacos but I may have made the best. \u00a0I can see a Turkey Taco Tuesday in the near future. \u00a0If there is any turkey left. \u00a0Duke is now making use of the turkey. \u00a0Dang that kid can inhale food.<\/p>\n
Thanks to all that gave us the opportunities that we currently enjoy. \u00a0Thank you to all veterans and active duty. \u00a0Cops, fire and EMS, nurses and doctors as well as those that spent time on their “vacation” taking care of students and their livestock. \u00a0Thanks to all. \u00a0 GOD bless.<\/p>\n
