This was an EXCELLENT weekend. \u00a0I needed to go pick up some pigs. \u00a0But, I found an excellent person that was going and was willing to make arrangements and get these shoats picked up and brought to Shattuck. \u00a0EXCELLENT!<\/p>\n
So, this freed me up to actually get some of my own crap done. \u00a0And the weather cooperated. \u00a0Filled feeders, checked stock and then made plans for the afternoon. \u00a0I was in full Kelln wardrobe on Saturday. \u00a0Shorts, shoes and a cap. \u00a0I was almost over-dressed. \u00a0Duke and I decided to replace a couple of hydrants. \u00a0Both of these freeze proof hydrants froze up last winter. \u00a0And the calendar says that it is about time to start freezing again. \u00a0The first one was a simple deal. \u00a0The next one–not so much. \u00a0We uncovered a plumbing nightmare. \u00a0Three different size pipes in the same hole. \u00a0It is fixed now. \u00a0And the amazing thing, Duke and I working together, with plumbing problems and there wasn’t a fight. \u00a0Nothing. \u00a0Heck, it was excellent.<\/p>\n
With me actually being home, I got to check in with the neighborhood watch patrol. \u00a0Excellent conversations. \u00a0I saw a cool heifer and I learned about a new way to contract the stupidity disease.<\/p>\n
Saturday night found me plopping down in front of the tv. \u00a0I knew the pokes were playing on the tube but I was afraid to check the score. \u00a0Wait, what? \u00a0JEEMINY! \u00a0I was scared to keep watching. \u00a0It was still early but the pokes were winning big. \u00a0So, I flipped channels. \u00a0Oh wow! \u00a0On ABC, I could watch Okie State beat the longhorns. On CBS, I could watch the Fighting Irish beat on Navy. \u00a0And on FOX, I could watch the Red Sox. \u00a0That is an almost perfect night of sports for me. \u00a0The only way it could have been better is if the Cardinals were playing the Red Sox in the series.<\/p>\n
Duke and I made it to Mass on Sunday morning. \u00a0Then we worked stock. \u00a0He had to go feed at the vet clinic and when he got back, we drove to Crawford, OK to peruse the offering of Kris Black’s sale. \u00a0Dude(s), the weather was absolutely perfect on this fine evening. \u00a0Duke & I went from pen to pen, studying bulls, the sale catalog and a couple of heifers. \u00a0He and I did not want the sun to set. \u00a0We walked the pens. \u00a0We didn’t drive the golf carts as it was just so dang nice. \u00a0It was excellent.<\/p>\n
