I got a phone call from my buddy Schoovy. \u00a0Best that I have heard him sound in a while. \u00a0Although, there is still some road to travel, things are looking up for Mama Schoovy. \u00a0Power of prayer and positivity. \u00a0Keep it up.<\/p>\n
He was bragging on family and friends. \u00a0Very upbeat. \u00a0I like it. \u00a0He has also had time to study some online sales. \u00a0SCARY!<\/p>\n
I thoroughly enjoy showing a grand animal. \u00a0Always have, always will. \u00a0But those critters that we show are not who defines me. \u00a0I enjoy the journey, the study of the genetics, the feeding program, the exercise, the showmanship and most importantly, the people involved. \u00a0I don’t even care what species it is. \u00a0Yes, I like the chase, the journey and the end story. \u00a0But the main characters are what brings the story to life and makes it real.<\/p>\n
I’ve been dealing with a lot of kids lately. \u00a0If you watch or listen to our current news media, they will have you believe that kids aren’t of much account. \u00a0I’m here to tell you the truth. \u00a0I’m in the trenches and seeing this next generation\u2026first hand and up close.<\/p>\n
I can start with my own two progeny. \u00a0Yes, the daughter has done well and her parents are proud. \u00a0But, she isn’t without fault. \u00a0No, the son isn’t perfect and could do some things better. \u00a0But here is the truth. \u00a0Both kids are better than their parents. \u00a0WAY BETTER! \u00a0And that is our goal.<\/p>\n
This may be stupid. \u00a0Maybe not. \u00a0I don’t really care. \u00a0For years now, I have made every 8th grader learn the photosynthesis equation. \u00a0If you don’t know it, well, you should.<\/p>\n
6H2O + 6CO2 (in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll) \u00a0yields C6H12O6 + 6O2<\/p>\n
It is the basis of life. \u00a0PERIOD.<\/p>\n
For a grade, these kids have to get up in front of class and say it. \u00a0Oh yeah, I kind of like the public speaking. They will have to do it at some point. \u00a0Why not in front of their peers? \u00a0Plus, no papers to grade.<\/p>\n
We did this today. \u00a0Some knew it and rocked it. \u00a0Some had to study a bit more. \u00a029 8th graders in class. \u00a0None. \u00a0I mean NO negativity. \u00a0Encouragement, high fives, clapping and truly wanting to see their class mates get it done. \u00a0Regardless of gender, race, intelligence level, clothing, whatever the he!!. \u00a0If someone missed a part, they corrected them and coached them to try again. \u00a0I wasn’t the teacher. \u00a0I was just lucky to be there.<\/p>\n
Good news. \u00a0Look around and listen. \u00a0It’s there.<\/p>\n
