{"id":2393,"date":"2018-08-01T13:00:03","date_gmt":"2018-08-01T13:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=2393"},"modified":"2018-08-01T13:00:15","modified_gmt":"2018-08-01T13:00:15","slug":"texture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/texture\/","title":{"rendered":"Texture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The feel, appearance or consistency of a surface or substance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m a texture person. \u00a0 I can work on engines or equipment but I don&#8217;t like it. \u00a0Why? \u00a0I don&#8217;t like the feel of grease or oil.<\/p>\n<p>Onions are food that I will eat but only in certain ways. \u00a0At the house that I grew up in, those people treat onion like it is a food group. \u00a0Lots of onions. \u00a0I don&#8217;t mind &#8220;some&#8221; onion but I don&#8217;t want to contaminate the entire dish with onion. \u00a0And it isn&#8217;t the flavor that gets me. \u00a0It is the texture. \u00a0Something about the way that they crunch that makes me cringe. \u00a0 I really like a good onion ring. \u00a0Thinly sliced in a beer batter. \u00a0Jake&#8217;s Rib in Chickasha has decent bbq but wicked good side dishes, especially their onion rings. \u00a0But if a ring is too fat, I&#8217;m out. \u00a0And if while eating an onion ring, part of the onion slides out of the batter shell, I&#8217;m way out. \u00a0Then it&#8217;s like trying to eat a hermit crab as it climbs out of it&#8217;s shell.<\/p>\n<p>I also really like Best Maid hamburger dill slices. \u00a0I can eat them by the jar. \u00a0Recently, I bought a gallon of them. \u00a0I also bought a gallon of Best Maid whole dill pickles. \u00a0Same damn thing, just not sliced. \u00a0People in my house will eat them. \u00a0I tried one. \u00a0Taste is fine but the texture of biting through that whole pickle just doesn&#8217;t work for me.<\/p>\n<p>Texture has become HUGE in the wether goat industry. \u00a0It has been in the sheep as well but not quite like the goats. \u00a0The texture of hide and skin is paramount.<\/p>\n<p>This wether has great touch.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s hide fits like a pair of orange shorts on a Hooter&#8217;s waitress.<\/p>\n<p>I would like to see this wether have a tighter hide.<\/p>\n<p>A wether can be structurally correct, heavy boned, packing lots of muscle, up fronted, good when you set him in motion, correct in finish, level hipped and really eye appealing and that goat will stand 2nd or lower if his hide doesn&#8217;t quite fit right.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, a goat can actually give up a tick of muscle as long as he is tight hided and has a firm touch.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t have a problem with this. \u00a0Of course, there are some things that can be fed to tighten hides. \u00a0But, some genetics just can&#8217;t be fixed with any amount of miracle feed additives.<\/p>\n<p>It is amazing the things that crosses one&#8217;s mind as eating a pickle is pondered.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mongo only pawn in game of life.&#8221; \u00a0 \u00a0Words spoken by Mongo.<\/p>\n<p>Have a good one and a better tomorrow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The feel, appearance or consistency of a surface or substance. &nbsp; I&#8217;m a texture person. \u00a0 I can work on engines or equipment but I don&#8217;t like it. \u00a0Why? \u00a0I don&#8217;t like the feel of grease or oil.
