{"id":2137,"date":"2018-03-21T01:27:47","date_gmt":"2018-03-21T01:27:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=2137"},"modified":"2018-03-21T01:28:00","modified_gmt":"2018-03-21T01:28:00","slug":"not-fun-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/not-fun-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Not Fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My attitude has not been perfect since OYE completed it&#8217;s almost two week run. \u00a0I&#8217;m not done with OYE as I still have a trailer full of cattle equipment and like a lot of others, I have some kind of sinus issue that just won&#8217;t leave. \u00a0Throw that on top of this bad hoof and I&#8217;m not worth 2 squirts of owl crap. \u00a0But, I did manage to see every goat on the place on this fine evening.<\/p>\n<p>The OYE goat shows did not go quite as planned. \u00a0It was a very good doe show for us. \u00a0Katherine Cockreham won a class with a Law &amp; Order doe kid. \u00a0Carli Word won two doe classes. \u00a0The heavy class winner was a Rumour Has It x Matter Of Facts product. \u00a0Bob &amp; Jodi Seelke produced this doe out of a set of 3 high$ pfeiffer does that we partnered on a couple of years ago. \u00a0One dead doe, one doe that won&#8217;t breed and two hatched embryos out of the third one and then the GOOD one got crippled before weaning. \u00a0At least we got a good one out of the investment.<\/p>\n<p>The wether show was a violent ass beating for our crew. \u00a0I&#8217;ve got nothing. \u00a0Just battered and bruised. \u00a0For twelve years, there was a Kelln kid in the OYE goat sale, every year. \u00a0Duke made the OYE premium sale his first 8 years of showing. \u00a0Not a small feat. \u00a0We had a family goal to make it every year, but that goal will not be reached. \u00a0It happens. \u00a0Life will go on and the sun has already come up. \u00a0I&#8217;m actually not in a bad mood about it. \u00a0I&#8217;m just left wondering.<\/p>\n<p>Duke and several other successful show kids did not fare well at OYE. \u00a0I did not want to see how these kids would act when they got thumped, but I have liked the results. \u00a0Basically, I get to deal with really good kids.<\/p>\n<p>No, Duke did not take his heifer to OYE. \u00a0Too many irons in the fire and he put his emphasis on the goats. \u00a0In retrospect, he should have taken the heifer.<\/p>\n<p>There are quite a few smart asses in the barns at OYE. \u00a0Somebody took my scooter and wrapped it in pink vet wrap. \u00a0Another added a bicycle bell on the side. \u00a0Somebody else added a set of truck nuts to the back axle. \u00a0I found it appropriate that they were blue. \u00a0I don&#8217;t know who did what but I am sure that a Kester and a Schoovy were involved. \u00a0Mike Parrish stole my scooter, had somebody video the theft and then texted me the video of the larceny. \u00a0I have lots of friends.<\/p>\n<p>The toe is healing nicely. \u00a0The rest of the hoof is starting to heel. \u00a0I wiggled my big toe on Sunday night. \u00a0It hurt, but it moved. \u00a0Today, I can move it a bit more. \u00a0Progress. \u00a0No crutches but I still have this walking shoe deal on my left hoof. \u00a0I do not remember the exact first time that I heard of an overpaid athlete not being able to play because of turf toe. \u00a0But I do remember thinking unkind thoughts. \u00a0Something about a cat. \u00a0DUDE!
