My mind is rolling with numerous different political crap. \u00a0I’m very much for the right to bear arms. \u00a0You cannot give me one reason that we should not be allowed to own guns. \u00a0I am obviously very much in favor of free speech. \u00a0However, I do believe that our current media has just about ruined this right. \u00a0And I dang sure don’t think that EVERY award show is a place for actors or athletes to espouse their beliefs. \u00a0My daughter may like living and working in hollywood, but I can dang neart do without it.<\/p>\n
Dang it was windy today. \u00a0WICKED! \u00a0 But it was still a good day. \u00a0I took a trailer load of tack and equipment to OYE. \u00a0I took two boys with me to help. \u00a0Neither are showing at OYE. \u00a0But, dang it was a good trip. \u00a0Two young men that have a great work ethic and a desire to not be at school and will work like sled dogs for a meal. \u00a0People, there is nothing wrong with that. \u00a0One of the boys transferred to school at Shattuck last year. \u00a0His last name is Islam. \u00a0He doesn’t talk much, doesn’t get in a hurry and is liked by all. \u00a0He wears shorts and boots–year round. \u00a0He loves working on cars and works at a dairy to pay for his automotive habits. \u00a0Of course, I call him the Radical Islam. \u00a0The other young man just recently transferred to Shattuck but he is of native German stock, which means that he isn’t afraid of work, uses the term “Yes Sir” and knows the joys of cherry kuchen and bierox.<\/p>\n
I can recall every champion animal that I have dealt with in my career. \u00a0OKC, Tulsa, KC, Phoenix, Denver, whatever. \u00a0Premium sales–I remember them all. \u00a0Winning speakers, judging teams, proficiency awards, whatever–I remember them all. \u00a0The point is NOT that I can remember all of the highlights, but I also remember the hardships that went with them. \u00a0Maybe that animal should have been higher, but a judge\u2026.or that speaker could have done better but\u2026\u2026..<\/p>\n
As I get older, those wins, plaques, trophies, scholarships, whatever\u2026.sure, they are important. \u00a0But not really. \u00a0 \u00a0They aren’t any more important than the trip from Shattuck to OKC and back on a windy day. \u00a0A bit of work, a dang good burger, some conversation about good tunes, Lonesome Dove, the future and the Radical Islam’s dating prospects make for a good trip, a good day and a good career. \u00a0Ag teachers, parents, coaches, whoever\u2026we can all lose sight of the important stuff while we are chasing something that may or may not be that important.<\/p>\n
Happy Birthday to that old fart that teaches at Ponca City. \u00a0He’s taught for almost 4 decades. \u00a0How many positive impacts has he made? \u00a0A lot. \u00a0He might run the most unique FFA program in all of Oklahoma. \u00a0What happens when he actually retires? \u00a0Which he won’t. \u00a0They will just bury his carcass at the ag farm. \u00a0Oh, and his daughter just had a reserve div. champion wether at Enid District. \u00a0Which means that BK and myself will get to have a chat with Miss Katie and what she needs to do in order to win a division, show, whatever. \u00a0And the key words will be Spicy Crackers.<\/p>\n
