{"id":2108,"date":"2018-03-02T14:35:05","date_gmt":"2018-03-02T14:35:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=2108"},"modified":"2018-03-02T14:42:56","modified_gmt":"2018-03-02T14:42:56","slug":"survived-but","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/survived-but\/","title":{"rendered":"Survived but\u2026."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stock shows that last over a week are rough on the mind, body and soul. \u00a0This one was worse than normal. \u00a0Yes, I broke a toe in two a couple of weeks ago. \u00a0I was doing pretty good on it until Tuesday afternoon. \u00a0And then, HOLY $h!t that hurts. \u00a0The rest of my left foot decided to give up the fight. \u00a0Now, as a result of over-compensating for my toe, the ball of my foot and my big toe are on strike. \u00a0swelLING and pain are not a good combination for a stock show. \u00a0I made it through the cattle day on crutches then went to the doctor on premium sale day. \u00a0Now, I&#8217;m back on crutches and got me a knee scooter along with my walking shoe.<\/p>\n<p>I now need a donation bucket on my scooter. \u00a0Every person just needs to put a dollar in the bucket before they say their smart ass remark.<\/p>\n<p>The Woodward District Jr. Livestock Show is now complete for 2018. \u00a0Shattuck had 10 in the premium sale with several actually qualifying numerous animals but they can only sell one. \u00a0We had all 4 species represented. \u00a0And lots of showmanship awards. \u00a0Great group of kids and parents. \u00a0The quality of stock in all species was impressive. \u00a0The heifer show was wicked good. \u00a0This grand steer was kind of like that Italian sports car among the volkswagens. \u00a0(I like that line). \u00a0I&#8217;m not saying that this is best district show in Oklahoma but it does have the best facilities, the best premium sale, we strive to have the best set of judges and the animals and kids are as good as any, anywhere. \u00a0It also has the best atmosphere among shows in Oklahoma. \u00a0Woodward works to make the showers feel wanted and the staff listens to make it as shower friendly as possible. \u00a0Outstanding show. \u00a0I look forward to seeing how these kids and their stock get along at OYE.<\/p>\n<p>The premium sale went well. \u00a0It maybe wasn&#8217;t as crazy high on the top end but the average was very good. \u00a0Duke was bought by Comstock Oilfield Supply. \u00a0Tammy and I are looking forward to the pics of Duke with Al, Scott and Chesley Comstock. \u00a0This family has become friends of ours as a direct result of the show goat industry. \u00a0We all want to win at these things but it is more important to build networks of friends and acquaintances for our kids. \u00a0The friends that we have gained are priceless.<\/p>\n<p>As for now, I&#8217;m going to scoot my ass around paradise and do &#8220;some&#8221;
