Sometime around 1980. \u00a0It may have been 79 or 82. \u00a0I remember visiting at some of our cousins’ home. \u00a0 My dad and this cousin were right at the same age and they liked to get together from time to time. I was snooping through their record collection. \u00a0Yes, as in vinyl records. \u00a0I remember seeing a record with a lightning bolt and a wicked looking caricature dressed as a school boy. \u00a0The title of the record was High Voltage. \u00a0I asked if I could play this record. \u00a0They let me and I was hooked. \u00a0That was my first introduction to the band AC\/DC.<\/p>\n
Three and a half decades later, they were still one of the biggest and best bands in the world. \u00a0Today’s kids still listen to AC\/DC. \u00a0They aren’t the best musicians but what they do, they do very well. \u00a0Their beat, rhythm, guitar licks and simple lyrics made you do the white guy head bob, right in time with the beat. \u00a0But, they are pretty well done at this point. \u00a0The lead singer has lost his voice and now, Malcolm Young has died. \u00a0He was one of the two brothers that founded the band. \u00a0He was also the rhythm guitarist and he wrote a lot of their songs.<\/p>\n
This band is a part of the livestock world. \u00a0Every clipper and fitter listens to AC\/DC. \u00a0Two of the most popular bulls of all time were named after AC\/DC songs–Who Made Who and Heatseeker. \u00a0And every Okie showman dreams of getting out of the limo and walking across the arena with the tune Thunderstruck rocking the arena.<\/p>\n
And for the rest of the story. \u00a0Our cousins attend the Seventh Day Adventist church. \u00a0Yes, I was introduced to the rock band AC\/DC by members of the Seventh Day Adventist church. \u00a0Just a little bit ironic. \u00a0 \u00a0Good music transcends religion.<\/p>\n
