It was a busy weekend. \u00a0Took a crew of kids to Woodward to a judging contest on Friday. \u00a0Some of them were off their game while others had a good day. \u00a0One group of Freshmen and Sophomores won the intermediate division. \u00a0A group of 8th graders made it through their first contest. \u00a0They judged all of the classes, gave reasons and managed to turn their cards in properly. \u00a0Success.<\/p>\n
While we were there judging, Rodney Washmon took Duke and Clayton Washmon to the 5 State Fair in Liberal, KS. \u00a0That worked out as Clayton showed the grand market lamb and Duke showed the grand market goat. \u00a0Duke’s goat is a Blood Pressure on a Joe Dirt.<\/p>\n
Saturday brought getting some pens built at the ag farm so that I can get some goats and lambs off of my feed bill. \u00a0Heith Sander brought me some seed wheat so I could get some grazing pastures planted. \u00a0Sunday afternoon, I got ground cultivated and wheat drilled in the goat pasture and a few other little deals. \u00a0We’re going with beardless wheat this time. \u00a0Triticale seed has gotten harder to find and pricier.<\/p>\n
We are a week away from the Best of the West sale on Labor Day. \u00a0I’m going to have to start getting my stuff ready–goats, cooking, sale setup, etc.<\/p>\n
I need to put some cidrs in some does. \u00a0There are several problems involving ciders–first, they aren’t cheap. \u00a0And two, in order to use them, you have to deal with does. \u00a0Problems.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
