{"id":1582,"date":"2017-06-05T03:08:53","date_gmt":"2017-06-05T03:08:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=1582"},"modified":"2017-06-05T03:28:50","modified_gmt":"2017-06-05T03:28:50","slug":"puff-of-smoke","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/puff-of-smoke\/","title":{"rendered":"Puff of Smoke"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve never been much of a smoker, but I grew up around a bunch of smokers. \u00a0Dad smoked, then quit, then chewed, then smoked, then quit, then quit again and probably would still like to light one up. \u00a0My aunt and my grannie could roll through several packs of cigarettes. \u00a0Now, when I walk down the halls of Shattuck High, I can distinctly remember the smell of a cherry pipe smoke from Mr. Bush&#8217;s (Busellato) office. \u00a0Of course, it was legal to smoke in schools in the mid 80s. \u00a0And pipe smoke does smell good.<\/p>\n<p>But, even though I don&#8217;t smoke and I don&#8217;t want to be in a smokey environment, there are times that one can enjoy a bit of a whiff of cigarette smoke. \u00a0Just enough, to remind you why you don&#8217;t smoke. \u00a0Sometimes, a puff of cigarette smoke with Juice Newton on the radio singing &#8220;Angel in the Morning&#8221; kind of puts one in a good mood.<\/p>\n<p>With all of the research and proof, I don&#8217;t understand why any kid would smoke, chew or dip. \u00a0There is no positive reason to start. \u00a0It is obviously an extremely addictive problem with no positive benefits, so don&#8217;t start.<\/p>\n<p>Last fall, I told my buddy Tyke that I was going to kick Joe Dirt out with a pile of does, let him have a last romp and I would keep a set of doe kids out of this deal. \u00a0Well, that worked, kind of, not really. \u00a0There will be benefits, but I should have also turned a young buck out when I pulled Dirt. \u00a0Several open does and the dreaded single buck kid epidemic are what I have to show as a result. \u00a0My mis-management, not his fault. \u00a0And, very few doe kids. \u00a0Which, normally I am in favor of. \u00a0At least this gives me an excuse to gripe about. \u00a0Anybody that has ever talked bucks with me knows what I think of Joe Dirt. \u00a0I have had the pleasure of owning two Helms bred-bucks. \u00a0Rumour Has It was the home-run hitter and Joe Dirt is the best one. \u00a0I often wonder what a wicked picture of Joe Dirt would have done for his &#8220;image&#8221;. \u00a0Screw em! \u00a0With his resume, he don&#8217;t need no stinking picture!<\/p>\n<p>While it was raining on Saturday afternoon, the Dragon Lady and I watched &#8220;Man on Fire&#8221; with Denzel Washington. \u00a0I had not seen this flick. \u00a0I remember it, but hadn&#8217;t seen it. \u00a0Dude, if it has Denzel, Tom Hanks or Chris Farley in it, a person better watch it.<\/p>\n<p>I think that I will end this on a good note. \u00a0Juice Newton&#8211; &#8220;Playing with the Queen of Hearts&#8221;. \u00a0That&#8217;s a pretty good tune as well.<\/p>\n<p>And we have the first Manilla Gorilla kids on the ground. \u00a0I don&#8217;t get too fired up about baby goats, but I am liking what I am seeing.<\/p>\n<p>Have a good one and a better tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve never been much of a smoker, but I grew up around a bunch of smokers. \u00a0Dad smoked, then quit, then chewed, then smoked, then quit, then quit again and probably would still like to light one up. \u00a0My aunt and my grannie could roll through several packs of cigarettes.
