{"id":1577,"date":"2017-05-31T02:10:55","date_gmt":"2017-05-31T02:10:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=1577"},"modified":"2017-05-31T02:10:55","modified_gmt":"2017-05-31T02:10:55","slug":"summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/summer\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I found summer last Saturday. \u00a0It was a 104 degrees near Guthrie, TX. \u00a0I&#8217;m not ready for that heat. \u00a0Sunday was not a fun day here. \u00a0Started the day assessing hail damage. \u00a0Then realized that the diesel tank was leaking. \u00a0Good thing I had the CooP fill those tanks earlier in the week. \u00a0Duke got to catch several buckets (clean white buckets from NE OK) of farm diesel while I went and stole a fuel trailer to off-load onto.<\/p>\n<p>Then, I tried to farm. \u00a0Ruined a tire on the sweep plow. \u00a0Hooked up to the offset disk. \u00a0One of those tires had gone flat and lost its bead. \u00a0So, Tuesday morning found Duke and I getting two tires fixed on his pickup and the two implement tires. \u00a0And oil changes in two pickups. \u00a0And it all takes money. \u00a0And the AC is going out in the tractor. \u00a0And people, I can tell that tractor ain&#8217;t going to run without AC.<\/p>\n<p>And I still don&#8217;t like does. \u00a0And the exhaust fan on the greenhouse went out on Sunday. \u00a0Plants took a bit of a hit but have rebounded nicely. \u00a0A new belt is installed and we are back up and running.<\/p>\n<p>As you can tell, it wasn&#8217;t a fun holiday weekend. \u00a0However, I kept calm and we got stuff done. \u00a0Once, the farming came to a stop, Duke and I clipped some 5 week old kids. \u00a0I was in a better mood. \u00a0Had the first Manilla Gorilla babies born. \u00a0I was in a good mood.<\/p>\n<p>Had a pair of Wyoming ladies here to pick up some online purchases. \u00a0We always enjoy repeat customers. \u00a0And we will gladly walk and talk goats. \u00a0It is a pleasure dealing with people that are trying to build a quality herd while staying within a budget but willing to put some time and effort into the project.<\/p>\n<p>Cheers to Halie Schovanec as she plays in several all-star\/all-state basketball games this week. \u00a0She ain&#8217;t tall but she is fast and mean on the court. \u00a0I think that her dad might have been an all-state catcher. \u00a0Maybe not.
