It was \u00a0bit of a busy weekend and the weekend actually started on Thursday evening. \u00a0It was a miserable windy SOB of a day. \u00a0Duke and I needed to wash and dry a couple of buck prospects but we lost power. \u00a0Friday morning brought Duke and I loading 10 yearling bucks and headed to Perry. \u00a0I didn’t think that we could wash, clip and photo 10 bucks in one day. \u00a0I was wrong. \u00a0With the crew of Duke, Ring, Braden and BK washing, drying and clipping with Tommy and I watching over them\u2026guess what\u2026 you can. \u00a0I had to write several checks but they were checks well earned and well spent. \u00a0If you want good help, pay for it.<\/p>\n
Saturday brought Tammy and I at a bull sale bidding for Dad. \u00a0He had some little heart deal on Friday and was sore on Saturday. \u00a0We got the 2 that he wanted. \u00a0And they were the right 2. \u00a0One thing about JQK, he buys damn good bulls, regardless of color. \u00a0Then we went to Pullan’s and Seelke’s. \u00a0Good stops.<\/p>\n
Sunday brought shearing Dec. born wethers. \u00a0Inducing labor. \u00a0Hauling more limbs. \u00a0Having some serious discussions about showing wethers. \u00a0And swapping goats with the Arnett division of the Kelln Livestock doe herd. Lots of bottle babies on the NE corner of the town of Arnett. \u00a0Better there than at Fargo. \u00a0They like them at Arnett. \u00a0Not so much at Fargo. \u00a0Maxwell the retarded wether goat got a haircut today.<\/p>\n
This afternoon also brought a lesson learned by Duke. \u00a0When hooking up to a trailer with a 2 5\/16″ hitch, make sure that it is a 2 5\/16″ ball and NOT a 2″ ball. \u00a0When he loaded the Gator, the trailer came off the ball and now there is a dent in the tailgate of the Grey Goat pickup. \u00a0Dad (ME) is NOT pleased.<\/p>\n
Here’s to me looking forward to April 22. \u00a0The 3rd annual Banners & \u00a0Backdrops sale. \u00a0I’m pretty amped about a couple of goats that we will be taking there.<\/p>\n
