{"id":1469,"date":"2017-03-07T12:34:03","date_gmt":"2017-03-07T12:34:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/?p=1469"},"modified":"2017-03-07T12:34:03","modified_gmt":"2017-03-07T12:34:03","slug":"nasty-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kellnlivestock.com\/site\/nasty-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Nasty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has been windy here for the past week. \u00a0I mean really nasty windy. \u00a0But Monday brought a whole new level of windy. \u00a0I truly believe that it was the windiest day that I ever remember. \u00a0Brutal! \u00a0The kind of wind that folds pickup doors backwards.<\/p>\n<p>We lost backyard fence, feeder lids and the trampoline got rearranged. \u00a0And of course, more tree limbs. \u00a0All of this can be dealt with. \u00a0However, with wicked winds and no rain, there is the threat of fire. \u00a0The towns of Laverne and Buffalo were evacuated last night. \u00a0Homes north of Woodward were lost. \u00a0Some of these people lost hay, fence and cattle last April in that fire. \u00a0The Comstock&#8217;s had to leave home last night but luckily the winds changed and they didn&#8217;t lose their homes. \u00a0Cattle have been lost in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas.<\/p>\n<p>Forty miles straight west of us in Lipscomb County, Texas a fire line stretched for 20 miles. \u00a0Dad was prepared to open the gates in order to turn cattle out and get them out of the fires path. \u00a0Luckily, it didn&#8217;t come to that. \u00a0The smoke from that fire blew straight east and thoroughly enveloped our little paradise. \u00a0You would have thought that fire was just across the road with the amount of smoke.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully the winds have died down. \u00a0Hopefully, there was no more loss of homes or livestock during the night. \u00a0Prayers for the volunteer firefighters and their safety as they bravely take on the job of dealing with these wildfires. \u00a0Pray for those that have lost homes, barns and livelihoods.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It has been windy here for the past week. \u00a0I mean really nasty windy. \u00a0But Monday brought a whole new level of windy. \u00a0I truly believe that it was the windiest day that I ever remember. \u00a0Brutal! \u00a0The kind of wind that folds pickup doors backwards.
